Due to a couple of cowards turning tailunfortunate scheduling conflicts, the Memorial Day w/e trip to BSP, planned by our talented and lovely twig eating hostess, looks like it has a couple of openings. If interested, get in touch!

Hey ped - you still backpacking in?

Cause I found this trail...
hehe...

I know you want to do the AT, but how about going in or out another way? Check out the map on the BSP website (Lost Pond and Foss & Knowlton Pond) potential for good moose sightings.

I've been sick as hell for the last three weeks, but decided too damn bad, hiking in sounds like too much fun. I'll just wheeze alot. :)

One forecast for Millinocket this weekend is cloudy, cloudy, showers on Monday, low 40s/high 60s all three days.

Yikes... the forecast is worse than it was when I looked yesterday... it's calling for rain Sunday and Monday. Oddly enough the forecast says rain in Millinocket, but not East Millinocket on Saturday.

From another site...

.SATURDAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY. LOWS IN THE MID 40S AND HIGHS IN THE MID AND UPPER 60S.
.SUNDAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY. LOWS IN THE MID 40S AND HIGHS IN THE LOWER
60S.
.MEMORIAL DAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH SCATTERED SHOWERS. LOWS IN THE LOWER 40S AND HIGHS NEAR 60.

I think that's code for "rain like hell all weekend, but don't let the tourists know!"

Twiggy: I've got no need to go in and out the same way - so I'm willing to try the trail your thinking of in one direction.

We are still figuring on backpacking in

Remind me of what I was saying about those fine gentelemen who had the wisdom and foresight to avoid Baxter State Park this w/e?

Ha!

West Virginia Highlands has the same temperatures.

The forecast has been evolving toward six kinds of rain for Fri, Sat, Sun & Mon.

I prefer last week's forecast, however, and I will go anyway.

Whoopee!!!

Usually I avoid travelling this particular weekend, but I can get off 95 on Monday well above the traffic jams. :)
Hopefully we won't hit the Millinocket, East Millinocket and Medway parades on our way home - eeek!

Well I wondered... but I thought you peeps were used to it, LOL. If it makes ya feel better, Baltimoron George here in my office tells me I don't know what traffic is...so I guess it's all relative... :)

Well - in Millinocket, I imagine the parades must get way over half a block in length!

Yep, rain, cold, traffic...I think I'll stay home as well, j/k!

LOL, since I don't know how far a block is, how far is half a block?

Sorry, I have no business being ont his thread but BALTIMORON? I love that! LOL! I can't wait until Tom Terrific sees that. After all, he lives in Baltimore. ;o)

Twigster - a block is the distance from 1 street corner to the next corner. In New York it's a few hundred feet. In your neighborhood, it's a few hundred miles.

.MEMORIAL DAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF SHOWERS. LOWS IN THE MID 40S AND HIGHS IN THE LOWER 60S.
