“I rented "Hotel Rawanda" and watched it last night. A very tense drama and a true story at that. Highly reccomended.”

“I rented the 8 part A&E mini-series "Horatio Hornblower" with Netflix...(did I mention that already?)...loved it. I fell in love with the books when I was a kid. Very well done miniseries.”

“I know this is a movie thread, but if you want to read what it would be like if Horatio Hornblower was in space you should read the Honor Harrington series of books by David Weber, starting with On Basilisk Station.”

“I saw the movie 300 last night. It was quite the disappointment after having just read, "Gates of Fire."”

“I guess my expectations were out of line a bit. The movie told the story and made you understand what was happening and why. I didn't get that feel from the movie. I'm comparing apples and oranges I suppose.”

“Oh, and I finally saw Talladega Nights, at least part of it. I knew I had to be up early this morning and by 9:30 I was too tired. I got to the part where's he's just gotten out of the hospital. I don't think I'll bother finishing it. I wasn't impressed. We also rented Ocean's 13 and Blades of Glory.”

“Talladega Nights was one of those movies where you sit and think, "Gawd this is awful! I can't believe how unfunny this is. The wife would probably get pissed if I suggest we leave early. Besides we spend all that money on tickets. We can't leave.".

Only to have the wife say, "Gawd that sucked. I wanted to leave but I thought you'd get pissed. Plus we spent all that money on tickets.".”

“I like 300. I already new the story, the goat trail and why they were there, but maybe you were talking about personal stories of the individual stories. Maybe that would have been nice, but I saw 300 for the battle scenes anyway, plot wasn't important too me.”
