Ooooooh, you went down into the inner canyon. Cool. I wasn't able to do that when I was there. Thanks for posting the pics!

de ja vu! Your pictues are Very much like the ones I took about 25 years ago...the first time I trekked down to Phantom Ranch. I also captured Devil's corkscrew, phantom creek, the reststop, a mule deer, the trail winding down Tonto Plateau...didn't get the flowers and lizard though (big lizard) except the colors in your pics are magnificant! (mine are not) wow, thanks. Must have gone in early spring while it was still green, and before it got dusty & hot

Wow Biz...that would of made you 4 because you don't look any older than 29.

I definitely want to get to the Canyon some time in the next couple years!

How long does it take to do a trip like you did, toph72?

Trip
We didn't have a permit when we arrived but went straight to the BC office that afternoon, got on the waiting list and received #11. The next morning, 7 of the people ahead of us on the list were no-shows and we were able to get a permit starting the following night. Spent 1st night at Indian Gardens, 2nd at Bright Angel and then hiked all the way out on the 3rd day.

Temps
Wasn't too bad, maxed out at 101 at Phantom Ranch and about 85-90 on the rim. The lows were still in the mid 60's at night in the gorge...still a little warm for me, but pretty nice.

I just rafted (a few weeks back) from Lee's Ferry to Phantom. It was incredible. I can't wait to go back and do some exploring of the side canyons. Lots and lots of Anasazi ruins and artifacts.

Thanks for sharing the pics!
