I was going into labor
with my son. He turns 13 tomorrow!
This time 13 yrs ago I had a big belly. It was my last day on the job and I went into labor at work. I got thru the day and went from work straight over to Labor and Delivery.

My oldest daughter turned 13 last Monday. She is adopted and Irish...with the temperment to match!!

My youngest is 6 and was born right down the hall from where I worked at the hospital. :)

Happy "non-labor" day !!!

MDSHiker - Poo on you. I was utterly charmed by her at TC2. Nice kid, wish I had one like her.

danababy - "big belly" heh? Several years back, one of my pretty cousins was preggers in a big way. I hadn't seen her in several months and ran into her at a ball game. She was big as a house and never looked more beautiful. The old wives tales about a woman "glowing" was true for her.

Baby Pool
That was so neat. We had a baby pool. A bet on what flavor baby I'd have, what weight, what date the baby would arrive, etc. One of the Docs I was working for won the pool! He guessed the sex, the weight, the day just right! He put his bet in months ahead. The neatest thing was that my son looked JUST like his eldest child when he was born. Their resemblance is striking. Dr. E got all misty when he saw the little guy. It was a neat day. alot easier 2nd time around too. That one was like a burp by comparison to the 1st kid!

My wife definately had the "glow". Everytime I told her so I'd get the look and she'd say I was just buttering her up. It didn't help that her co-workers told her that she had "get-it-girl" hips while pregnant. Her water broke her last day of work too.

A teacher here who had a son 2 months ago brought her son in yesterday. What a cute little guy and he looks just like oldest at that age. He is turning 18 soon and going off to college. Wow how time flies.

Thank you Danababy!!
You all are helping me out, whether you intend to or not. My two year old is having an ugly week and it's awfully hard to love her up like I should.
You just gave me a gentle reminder that before I know it she'll be off to school, and she won't be around to play with. I think after nap we'll head out to the sandbox, terrible two moments or not.

Hang in there Momma
Hugs to you from one mom to another, Sassafras. I know hit it is. I bet these other parents on here do too. Sometimes kids can be so nasty and mean. We have a term for them. Schiesse Fogel. The old yardbird or garbage stork. Something nasty coming out of every oriface and shrieking! LOL My kids have given me some bad times, but not too many. I promise promise it will get better. Remember too when your little girl is shrieking, squealing and being mean to you... about the old stork and grin. She will be out of it in no time.
