Did you skip school to go play?” 8:16:19 AM 4/22/05 Bought two new boats “Got my 9 (soon to be 10) year old a Perception Acadia Scout. Designed for 60-120 lb. its a kids boat that is about 10 feet, tracks well, $320 less a 125 discount. Also got a Wilderness Systems T145 with rudder to replace the big tandem (Pamlico Excel) that I had been paddling. So the little guy (age 6) and I will paddle the tandem. Now I have to sell the Pamlico Excel. Anyone in Central CT who wants a 16 foot. green rotomold, tandem with a thrid seat. great for families.” 9:04:07 AM 4/22/05 “How much you want for it Lee? My folks are looking for a couple of kayaks but they might consider a tandam. Ewker, no school on Thursdays until I have to start work in the clinic. =)” 12:36:18 PM 4/22/05 “Picked up a new kayak today. That makes 5 at my place now - there are only 4 people here. I'm out of control! The new one is an old-style WS Tarpon 160 with the two big hatches for camping gear, as opposed to the new style with a tankwell for fishing gear. This one was at a fire sale price. Me and the boy had to try it in a 30 mph wind on the way home but we still loved it. It will be nicer tomorrow morning. Hopefully I can get the boy out there with me again. Maybe the wife if I ask nice. It's always a good day when you get a new kayak.” 12:47:51 AM 4/23/05 Sass “$500. With a spary skirt, flotation bladder and third seat . .. .” 8:44:34 AM 4/25/05 Carlette... “Heads up.... Chemical spill kills thousands of fish SALEM, Va. Officials in Salem say a fish kill now totals in the thousands -- two days after a biotechnology company accidentally spilled an industrial cleaner into a creek. Fire Chief Pat Counts warned people to stay away from Mason Creek until further notice. Counts says that Novozymes Biologicals accidentally released as much as 14-hundred gallons of floor and drain cleaner into the creek, which flows into the Roanoke River. Company and Salem officials say the chemical could cause minor skin and eye irritation. There have been no reported injuries related to the spill. The state Department of Environmental Quality, the state Health Department and the U-S Fish and Wildlife Service are investigating the spill, which happened Wednesday afternoon. Wilderness Systems Tempest 170 Kayak http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?originalTextQuery=7219570012+&catalogId=40000008000&productId=47895699&stat=7889&langId=-1&y=16&x=23&storeId=8000&vcat=REI_SEARCH” 7:36:00 AM 5/06/05 Yeller? “Looks fast....Keeping the Carolina?” 8:25:56 AM 5/06/05 “I don't see any reason I shouldn't keep it in my boat collection. It will make a great 'loaner' for a girlfriend to use. I need to count my boats again, LOL. I've lost count. I think it's up to 8 or 9 now.” 8:31:52 AM 5/06/05 “Good choice. I'd love a Tempest. I got a quick paddle in a kevlar 165 yesterday. Of course it was $3100 new, but was so light and slick on the water. I had to build a storage rack for my kayak collection last week. It's holding 2 windsurfers and 5 yaks with room for one more.” 7:01:38 AM 5/09/05 “I came home from RRG last night to find that Birch had sold my Carolina. My heart felt heavy and sad. I love my boat, it was my first. I learned with it, it made me feel like I was flying across the water. But. the sadness left quickly as I considered that it meant I get one of these: http://www.kayaker.com/new/products/boat.asp?type=touring&ID=72 =)” 7:17:26 AM 5/09/05 “Kewl Beans Sass!” 9:05:15 AM 5/09/05 “Hey Sass, how much did you get for the Carolina, if you don't mind me asking? I've got a 'spare' Carolina 14.5 with rudder now. (Well, I will have as soon as REI ships my new WS Tempest) Thinking of keeping it, but if the price is right might sell it.” 10:12:16 AM 5/09/05 “Why the change Sass. I thought size wasn't important? ;-)” 11:59:09 AM 5/09/05 “Good oportunity to upgrade came up and size is important in big waves, (great lakes), and instances where speed counts. Stove, you have mail.....” 12:01:08 PM 5/09/05 “I was just teasin Sass. Congrats! When do you get the new craft?” 12:09:42 PM 5/09/05 “Not sure yet Dhutch. Hopefully within a month. I'm just looking forward to my legs not going numb anymore. It'll be nice to have a boat that fits me.” 12:11:34 PM 5/09/05 Stove “you have more mail :)” 12:11:36 PM 5/09/05 “Thanks for the emails. I'll have to read them when I get home. Work blocks yahoo mail.” 12:24:42 PM 5/09/05 “Stove, that's a very nice boat you got coming! I love the dayhatch, a great feature. Nice price you got on it too!” 1:22:02 PM 5/09/05 “Thank you Sass, your new one looks very good too. I feel another Cumberland Island yak trip coming on!” 1:26:47 PM 5/09/05 “Any suggestions on good places to find used kayaks?” 2:16:50 PM 5/09/05 2:22:18 PM 5/09/05 “Ebay! (I happen to know of one selling right now.....) Also check your state canoeing clubs. They always have used boats for sale, kayaks too.” 2:32:04 PM 5/09/05 “I've got a Perception Napali on the paddling.net board. Good camping yak. Sass, the Avatar is supposed to be "lively." I'd love to try one but have never seen one.” 7:55:50 PM 5/09/05 “I'm ready for "lively", lol. I can't wait to learn to roll it!” 9:39:00 PM 5/09/05 “That's awesome lady!! :)” 9:48:09 PM 5/09/05 “Seven hours left on Birch's boat on Ebay. The price is getting up there. It's so exciting watching ebay auctions; I can see how easy it could be to get hooked on buying and selling there!” 1:21:28 PM 5/10/05 “Who do you have bidding up the price for you? lol...” 1:22:25 PM 5/10/05 “Kewl Beans, Sass. I marked his yak on eBay as a 'watched' auction.” 1:23:34 PM 5/10/05 “I always place my bids with about a minute or less to go. The price usually shoots up a lot during the last minute.” 1:26:09 PM 5/10/05 “Bit, you can bid on it for us if you want. It's a nice boat and would prolly fit you great if you win it accidently, lol.” 1:26:39 PM 5/10/05 “Yeah, we've always used auction sniper if we really want something. The most exciting moments are the last two minutes. It's enough to raise my heart rate. Looking forward to 9:02 tonight. =)” 1:27:52 PM 5/10/05 “LOL I'll be watching with y'all. That's central time, right? I might sell mine if birch's goes for a good price.” 1:30:06 PM 5/10/05 “No, Eastern time.” 1:31:38 PM 5/10/05 “Bought two boats: perception Arcadia Scout for my son. Its a 10 foot kids boat. 25 lb. tracks well. Should give him a shot at keepig up with mom and dad. Second boat Wilderness systems 145T. A smaller tandem than our old one for my second son and me. My wife still paddles the Wilderness systems shaman.” 1:34:17 PM 5/10/05 the Scout “MSRP: 329.99 Meet the newest addition to the Acadia family! Not merely a sized-down Acadia 12.5, the Acadia Scout was designed from scratch to fit kids from 8-12 years old, and not just as a first boat, but as one that could grow with them. To make sure it was right, we recruited a cadre of kids who put a series of prototypes through their paces. With their input, the Acadia Scout is destined to be a classic. No more bumping elbows on a too-wide hull. No more sitting on a pfd just to see over a too-high cockpit. Just an excellent accompaniment to a very popular line of recreational kayaks ![]() The 145T ![]() last edited: 5/10/05 1:41:50 PM” 1:36:46 PM 5/10/05 “Kewl! We have a firend who has a kids boat for Abby to learn on. It's a little four foot long sit-on-top that's almost impossible to tip over. Next year she'll have to start getting towed or paddling her own boat; she's getting too tall to be in the back hatch anymore.” 1:39:35 PM 5/10/05 “lol, my brother believes that there is massive fraud on Ebay, with most things being bid up by people's friends. I personally think that people are just crazy.” 1:41:23 PM 5/10/05 “Yes, people are crazy. It amazes me how some people start bidding days before an auction ends, just jacking the price higher in essence.” 1:43:28 PM 5/10/05 “I watch digital cameras a lot. People will spend $100 on a four year old, used 2 megapixel camera with a broken battery door, when they could spend twice that and get a brand new 4 megapixel camera from a reputable online store. It's just crazy.” 1:45:59 PM 5/10/05 “CRAZY!!! it is! Those people will pay MORE than retail for used gear a lot of times.” 1:46:10 PM 5/10/05 “don't forget the shipping cost, that can push you over the cost of a new item sass, what is the link to Birch's yak” 1:53:30 PM 5/10/05 “Shoot, I don't know.” 1:54:32 PM 5/10/05 “what good are you ;)” 1:55:05 PM 5/10/05 “Here ya go.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=36122&item=7154234013&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW” 1:56:04 PM 5/10/05 “thank you” 1:58:52 PM 5/10/05 “Ooo, I HATE it when the reserve and the "Buy It Now!" price are the same! You tease!” 1:59:32 PM 5/10/05 Jump to Page << prev
