Battery Help “I just got a Sports Instruments Alta altimeter and Im so excited. I bought a battery but now I cant figure out how to open it! Does anyone know if I pry open the back plate or if I have to uncrew it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Elliot” 10:16:45 PM 5/31/03 “You might want to send the manufacturer an email.” 11:21:40 PM 5/31/03 “I would take it to a jeweler/ watch repair. They usually have the batteries as well. Did mine for the cost of the battery.” 11:31:13 PM 5/31/03 “I was wondering what the story is with the Sunnto Vector. For the Avocet Vertech you're supposed to send it back to California every year for them to replace the battery and recalibrate the altimeter (for $20+).” 12:06:45 AM 6/01/03 Return Suunto When It Shows Signs Of Retardation “When the Vector F's up...you'll know it. It'll show some outrageous altitude and barometer readings. Mine needed "reconditioned" because of that and when I contacted Suunto they said it'll cost between $35 - $50. I also wanted them to change the color from yellow to green (there was only a black and yellow choice from where I purchased the watch) and they said they'd do it. I believe they gave me a whole new watch, and was charged only $35.” 7:43:12 AM 6/01/03 “I see that you just buy a kit and replace the battery yourself... How long do they last?” 10:46:56 AM 6/01/03
