I'm thinking of buying one...
I think one of these would be handy for storing precooked backpacking meals. Do any of you own one? Recommendations???

I'm using my Mom's, in fact. I'm prepping cehydrated food for HPM's upcoming Sierras trip.

It's a Foodsaver Ultra. I haven't done that much with it yet, but my Mom loves it. SHe uses it for storing foods for freezing or for the motorhome. That's her version of camping. THe bags aren't as thick as the enertia brand bags, but they can be boiled. THe manual gives a lot of tips for prepping and storing different foods.

Don't buy the $149 basic model. I had one and it sucked, well actually it didn't. The seal would not hold and little tabs under the top broke off after the first few times I used it. Took it back to Sam's club for a refund.
