I just got this
Subject: Fwd: URGENT: COSTCO SCAM -- WATCH OUT

------------- Forwarded message follows -------------

I don't how many of you shop at Costco, but this may be useful to know.
I
have become a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. This happened to me and it could happen to you.

Here's how the scam works:
Two seriously good-looking 18-year-old girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping in the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy t-shirts. It is impossible not to look. When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' and instead ask you for a ride to another Costco. You agree and they get in the back seat. On the way, they start having sex with each other. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and performs oral sex on you, while the other one steals your wallet.
This
is not a joke. I had my wallet stolen last Tuesday, Wednesday, twice on Thursday, again yesterday and most likely tomorrow

PATRIOTIC DUTY
As we all know, the Taliban considers it a sin for a man to see a naked woman who is not his wife. So, next Saturday @2PM EST all American women are asked to walk out of their house completely naked to help weed out any neighborhood terrorists. Circling your block for one hour is recommended for this anti-terrorist effort.

All men are to position themselves in lawn chairs in front of their house to prove they are not Taliban, demonstrate that they think it's OK to see nude women other than their wife and to show support for all American women. And since the Taliban also does not approve of alcohol, a cold six-pack
@your side is further proof of your anti-Taliban sentiment.

The American government appreciates your efforts to root out terrorists and applauds your participation in this anti-terrorist activity.

God bless America!!

IT IS YOUR PATRIOTIC DUTY TO PASS THIS ON!

I found a tick on my dog after the new year's trip with Crash Bang. I was parting her fur to apply Frontline and it was almost exactly between her shoulder blades. Didn't really suprise me because December had been warm and that weekend I don't think it got under 35.

If you'd stop rubbing your ass into the grass, SC, you would probably get less ticks there.

sticks, wasn't that trip in bsf? both of my dogs got nailed there last march. it was so bad i had to quit pulling them off and take them to the vet for a dip. I pulled at least a hundred ticks off of one dog before i gave up. i felt bad leaving the ticks on them for the whole night, but i pulled until i couldn't see straight.

yes it was and a word about ticks in BSF. In the No Business Creek area Lone Star ticks are terrible. I won't even go there during the summer anymore. The are just about impossible to remove without using a pin to pry the suckers out.

Tell me more about these things...
Saturday night I camped out after our party on the farm in Middletown, MD. Tonight while walking in the city I felt something that "wasn't me" on my head (near my neck) and started itching/digging at it. Sure enough I found a tick. It was tiny, Most likely a nymph. I find it odd that it wasn't entrenched in me. I mean the tick ended up on my hand and we killed it. Identification wasn't 100% but it looked like a deer nymph. If I got it from the farm then why was it so easy to scratch off my head? Can one get these in cities? This is only my second tick.

I was in my tent a few nights ago. Found 8 ticks on me. The next day, while reading the news in a mans favorite reading area, I found 3 more on me. One of those was upon my member. How the hell did I miss that sensation?

I'm a kinda think'n that I need to find someone to check me for ticks on a regular basis. This checking myself stuff ain't work'n.

Ticks generally don't dig in right away. They look for a warm and dark place. Then they secrete a 'cement' to glue themselves to you and prepare to feed.

...sort of like an ex-wife or ones inn-laws or a loser sibling depending on your family situation.

Here is a hint someone sent to me. I haven't had the pleasure of the need to use it but it is worth checking out.

A School Nurse has written the info below -- good enough to share--and it really works!!

I had a pediatrician tell me what she believes is the best way to remove a tick. This is great , because it works in those places where it's some times difficult to get to with tweezers: between toes, in the middle of a head full of dark hair, etc.

Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball. Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and swab it for a few seconds
(15-20),the tick will come out on it's own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away.

This technique has worked every time I've used it (and that was frequently), and it's much less traumatic for the patient and easier for me.

Unless someone is allergic to soap, I can't see that this would be damaging in any way. I even had my doctor's wife call me for advice because she had one stuck to her back and she couldn't reach it with tweezers. She used this method and imediately called me back to say, "It worked!"

Please pass on >>>> everyone needs this helpful hint.

...but hey, if it works for you perhaps it's worth a shot. I hate pulling the things off the traditional way.

I keep hearing a bunch of stuff on ticks etc. I think I will stay with the tried and true, wear repellent, be careful and get a hiking partner who won't giggle during the routine checks.

I use DEET on my skin and permethrin on my clothing during the season. To be honest, despite my earlier comments implications the only ticks I have had to pull off in years were hooked onto other people. I am a total believer in this system. I don't think know that the DEET does that much for the Ticks. I mostly wear it for the mosquitoes and flies, but I have seen them drop off stunned/dead from my pant legs that were treated with permethrin. I think it's a killer combination (literally) during bug season.

Funny...
"Wash the bite with antiseptic and place the tick inside a plastic container marked with the date in case it is later needed for verification of illness. " Where would I store these little gems? Between myself, my kids and the dogs I'd need a whole room eventually. I do love snoops though, thanks Jimmy san

I'm a DEET/Permethrin person too. I'm parinoid about ticks and I never get em with that combo.

As far as tick removal this is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I keep that exact same tool in my first aid tool and it really works well. It's much easier than tweezers and works on very small ticks that are hard to get at.

DEET alone is effective.

http://www.tickinfo.com/permethrin.htm

Good web site on the topic.

DEET is indeed effective, 85% to 89% on it's own for ticks and 97% for mosquitoes. So you will only get bit by 1 in 10 ticks and 3 out of 100 mosquitoes... you decide if that's effective enough for you.

For me, in parts of Wisconsin where I hike with my sons where Lyme is a constant danger among other things, that is not good enough... esp given the volume of insects we will encounter over a weekend trip.

Permethrin on it's own is nearly 100% effective against ticks and 97% against mosquitoes.

The DOD uses the two together and the result is near 100% protection from both pests.

I've had two ticks, no more. i got 'em when I wasn't wearing DEET and that's all I ever use. I'd like a better source for info. That site is pushing permathrin

I think we're the tick capital of the world. Early spring I walked a couple miles on a skiing trail and pulled more than 20 off me that evening. I probably avereage one a day whether in the woods or not.

Nowhere I've seen is worse for ticks than the sections of the Buffalo River Trail in Arkansas which are dual horse/hike use. I probably picked 2-300 off of me over about a 3 hour period. I still shudder thinking about it 6 years later.

The 1 or 2 I occasionally find after a trip to Sipsey these days really aren't that big of a deal ;)
