I don't think homeless people use Goretex anymore - too heavy.

I am not homeless and I do not own any products with Gortex in them. Some of you need to go to a GA (Goretex Anonymous) meeting.

I thought the difference was that backpackers have more money to spend on gear (and not necessarily Gortex!).

Once Birch was taken for a homeless person while on a hike. He'd done 22 miles, got to the campground, found a tree and layed down under it for a nap. When he woke some people where making a huge dinner and invited him over for some. He had corned beef boiled dinner and two beers. Through the meal he talked about his hike and they told him they thought he was homeless!!! LMAO. I guess that's what comes of wearing old army clothing and sleeping under trees. Free beer and dinner!

I'll have to take my empty paper coffee cup and hang out at the trail head next time.

Sass- That dang birch could make friends anywhere!

I'll never forget the time we went to the bank and that woman wouldn't move or she parked right in front (or something) and birch was up there talking to her. I said to Sass, "Man, he can makes friends and talk to people everywhere he goes, huh?". He came back and it turned out he was actually crabbing at hger about her driving. LOL!
