“I just ordered a guide for the River to River Trail in southern Illinois. (These people are nice.... are going to send book out to me as check is enroute, cuz I NEED TO GET IT SOOOOOOON!)

Will be heading to the National Forest Service "Passport in Time" archaeology program there, which begins in a couple weeks. Chili also will be there. (Chili...... where are YOU?!??!!)

Will be staying in vicinity of Bell Smith Springs, Lake Glendale or Dixon Springs State Park campgrounds.

Looking for other hikes and/or backpacking trips to fill out week and enroute to and from there (or should I just break down and check out the Arch in St. Louis? A little out of the way, but I've never been to St. Louis.)

Also, trying to get a handle on when we'll take our free time, either at beginning or end of week. We could plan to meet other TT'ers in the area then.

And Chili's "homefires" have been lighted so he'll be leaving early, as he said above. Me thinks that's some newly-engaged feature. LOL!

I'm still figuring out what I'll do after he leaves. Maybe day hikes? Maybe an overnighter at Giant City? Maybe biking somewhere? I'll have the mountain bike along.”

I have family that lives in the woods there about a mile away from One Horse Gap, so I'll be out on the trail starting in that area. And I'll *definitely* be down there the second weekend in July.
