She wanted to go Saturday afternoon when she got off work, but I did not have the gear ready to go.

On the last weekend of this month, I am taking her to Sylamore creek for a short hike/overnighter. It is a great place to break in a newbie.

“Maybe she'll be real adventurous and join us in Feb as we explore the mysteries of Quillen. TC3 will be great as well. I'm still working on mine for that trip.

PS. My eyes are still adjusting back to normal from all the orange I saw driving through Johnson City, Knoxville, and Chattanooga this weekend.”

“She is going to TC3 (general event). Not sure if she will hike the mountain yet. I am holding off on judgment until after her first trip.”

“That's where we are too. The 16 mile roundtrip is a maybe for her. She did 13 at Roan just fine though. Climbing Big Hump was a haul, but she did great.”

“If we try another trip it'll likely be to Wesser in NC with Sherpa and his wife. We're thinking of hiking for a day and a half and then rafting the rest of the 2nd day. This trip involved a B&B for the first night. I'm thinking combo trips is the way to start. If they don't like that then they won't like the full fledged type of trip.”
