I haven't seen BB posting here this week. Is he MIA or did he get put in time out for having too many troll identities?

My good friend Buddha Bear has scored some fresh poon. Men only focus on two things. Poon and everything else. When fresh poon is in the air that is all we focus on.

Buddha will return as soon as the new poon leaves.

Nice jab, Buddha Bear!!

It seems kinda foolish for a high-paid player/thug to slam that fool.

I don't care if the moron was askin' for it or not, the penalty for runnin' onto the field would at best be a misdemeanor fine.

For real, the body slam was thuggery.

I saw Mike Curtis of the Colts do that about 30 years ago and it was really un-called-for.

Curtis did a chest/gut slam with his arms out-stretched, by the way.

And it was way more awesome than this latest assault.

Fans running on the field deserve whatever they get. Players have no idea what those nut cases are up to and have every right to defend themselves, in my mind. Why would some out-of-shape fan presume to think he can play games with muscle-bound athletes?

"Oops, ... that's why they're pros and I buy tickets!"

Bama is playing in the Cotton Bowl on Monday. About 50 years ago we played Rice in the Cotton and got our butts beat. Late in the game a Rice player was running down the sideline for another TD. A Bama player stepped off the sideline, onto the field, and kept him from scoring...again. I supsect they'll show that play during the TV broadcast.

Here's the article written 1/2/54

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/colleges/cottonbowl/history/1954.html

PS. I saw former Bama and Green Bay Packer QB Bart Starr at the movies on Sunday. Star was the MVP from Super Bowl I. It was pretty cool. I was walking to my car, looked up, and said to my wife, "Hey, that's Bart Starr." She replied, "Who?"

Come on, the player could have easily grabbed the guy and "assisted" him to the "safety" of a cop.........if he were a gentleman.

A good arm-twisting or ape-grip to the back of the neck would have been sufficent.......for a real man.

This is symptomatic of the kind of primitive crap* that we see way to much of in the NFL these days.

I would be curious to see how Jim Brown* would have handled this kind of thing.

*primitive crap, such as excessive on-field celebration
*a real man

I don't reckon Jim would have spared the man any embarrassment!!

But a real man doesn't have to go around hurting people......unless he's a runnin' back who is paid to hurt people who are paid to hurt him.

Why didn't the Cleveland player just give him a hug and a kiss and ask him to join in the play? When that 'fan' ran on the field he ran STRAIGHT for a Steeler player who then got out of the way then the Brown's player shoved him. I think just the right amount of force was applied to an a$$hole who should be fined, fined, fined!!! What a JERK!!

Relax sweetie, like I said, the proof is always in the puddin'.

The FOOL was not armed and he meant no harm.

"Shoot First" is not always a good reaction.

Seeing the video, the player did not seem to be afraid for his safety.

He was obviously taking advantage of an opportunity to act like a wildman.........are you acquainted with male humans???

I nust have missed this. Not sure what happened, except what I surmise from your posts. Recently, law was passed here in NY concerning fans running onto playing fields as well as having contact with players. The fines are large now and the law also states jail time with it...

I didn't him get frisked. How was anyone to know if he was armed or not? I think the player made a good move and put an end to a potentially dangerous situation real quick. Visorboy even continued to struggle while on the ground.

How do you know he wasn't armed except for news reports HOURS later. Who knows what could have been found when he was searched.

There were some fans in Chicago who jumped the Royals' first base coach a couple of years back and injured him (not real seriously, but still, he didn't need that).

If somebody's dumb enough to run out toward a bunch of professional athletes, he/she deserved whatever happens. Might there be a better way to handle it? There always is, but there is not exactly time to sit down and ponder all the alternatives when some nut case is bearing down on you and you have no idea what they are up to.

Now if the pro player goes into the stand, or bashes a fan in the stands with a chair, or bat, or hockey stick, then I have a problem with the player.

Even an old broke down clown like me could have handled that fool.

Violin, you storm trooper, you.......

The dipschit didn't have a chance.....struggle, schmuggle.

Al Franken could have handled the nitwit, and Al almost as old as I am.

It was extremely unprofessional of that player to man-handle the knucklehead the way he did.

A simple chicken wing would have been fine.

The punishment must fit the "crime".

I don't see it as a matter of crime and punishment or punishment fitting the crime, I see it as a matter of messing with the bull and getting the horns. Now if we were talking about the beating in Milwaukee a few days ago, I'd say MarkO was right on.

But the player didn't hurt the dumbass, he just body slammed him. He was laying on top of the guy until the security folks got there. The dumbass had his face mask and was yanking it around, yet the player didn't react. Most folks would've punched the guy for that.

Also, Geo hit on the time issue. He had a split second to react. If a guy is on the field you have to assume they're a bit on the nutty side. If you see a nut coming at you on the field you're gonna react. Yes, he could've come with a lot less force, but he could've really brought it to if he'd have wanted.
