Okay people. I am taking vacation in July to New York about 50 miles south of Utica. Any suggestions on what places I need to visit along the way?

Cooperstown, if you're a baseball fan.

Finger lakes, Catskills, Adirondacks, the field is wide open.

You're taking a vacation to New York? Is Arkansas really that boring?

I don't know Tom. I'm sure there is probably one of those around here somewhere. No Chili. My wife is from New York. We are going to see her family. I've put it off for 7 years & now it's time to pay up. Cooperstown sounds like fun, Geo.

I'll probably be in NY July 20,21,22,& 23. I think I am going to take my bike so I can get out & ride a little while I'm there.

Arky, the Baseball Hall of Fame is just about the greatest experience a fan can get, short of winning the World Series. Main St. in Cooperstown is filled with memorabilia shops. Plenty of country roads on which to ride bikes, nice scenery. Highly recommended!

And there's almost always a game going on in Doubleday Field. Amateur teams come from around the country to play there. When I was there there were teams wearing old vintage Phillies and Dodgers uniforms. Youth groups play there as well. You just walk in and find a bench in a vintage ballpark.

I could spend days in that town.

The trees took us to the NYCPD car pound; now that was some kind of entertainment, let me tell you. It outdid Seinfeld. I was waiting for Elaine, Kramer, and George to show up asking for Jerry.

It is on an old dock and commands fine views, although the NYPD has closed off all the views, the spoil sports!

Maple will be the one wearing three life jackets and chained to the dock so she can't fall in the lake.

Arky, if you are driving, take a route through Cumberland Gap TN, up I 81 through Virginia. Near I 81 in VA there are lots of caverns that you can tour. Near Utica and Finger Lakes region, there are a lot of vineyards near Watkins Glen. One whose wine we like a lot is Glenora.

Watkins Glen is another attraction. I was trying to remember it when I was thinking of the Finger Lakes. The walk up trough the glen features waterfalls and a canyon. Nice!
