Pack, bag, shelter
Whelp, mine's about 16 lbs.

Dana Design Astralplane Overkill: 7 lbs

Marmot Maverick 15-degree Polarguard 3D: 3.5 lbs

Hilleberg Nallo2 GT: 5.5 lbs.

I know there are lighter but I need the burliest, go anywhere set-up possible right now.

Rosey, you should have said "For summer" or "For winter" because we have diff sleeping bags and maybe even shelters.

Whew.

Pack - Osprey Aether 60, about 3.5lbs
Bag - REI 20F Polarguard 3D (I think anyway), about 3.5 lbs.
Tent - Sierra Designs Light Year, about 3 lbs.

about 10 lbs all told.

Yah, my winter bag is lighter, and so is my summer bag. The Polarguard bag is my fall/spring bag.

I was going for the ONE set-up, if you had to choose, to do anything. But you can post 'em all then!

I've got a late spring/summer/early fall set-up that weighs a lot less, about 8 lbs or under:

North Face Exocet: 2 lbs
Sierra Designs down bag: 3 lbs.
tarp/bug net: 3 lbs.

I just wanted to post my go anywhere do anything set-up.

My ultralight stuff...
GVP G4 4400ci frameless pack, about a pound, maybe less

REI Travel Down 45F, 1.5 lbs

8x10 silnylon tarp and groundsheet, stakes, about 2 lbs together.

Total, ~4.5 lbs.

Tent (REI Half Dome +2), incl. ground sheet = 5.4 lbs.
Bag (North face goose down +20 something-or-other) = 2.6 lbs
Pack (REI internal frame from about 1986) = 5 lbs, +/-

Total = 13.0 lbs

Ouch.

My pack is 7 lbs. Skeetah Bait's is 4 lbs. We'll be looking for new 4 pounders soon, honest we will.

Winter 0 degree bags are 4lbs, summer 25 degree bags are 2 lbs and hot summer fleece bags are 14 ounces.

Tent is 7 lbs. We'll be getting a new 4-5 pounder some time. Maybe the rock or silrock, or another tent by Eureka...

But Aero, how many CI is it? I may have a 7 lb pack but I'm gonna need all of those 7,000 ci. You really can't find a 7,000 ci pack for much less weight.

It's an older (80's version) Lowe Star, I think and it's probably about 6,000 cu in.

Winter

7lbs. at the lowest and 16 lbs. at the highest. It depends on when, where, how fast, how long, who I'm hiking with and what kind of mood I'm in when I'm packing.

First trip out going lightweight last month was a blast! I'm going to have to check out the WM Highlight--one pounds for a bag sounds awesome. Also looking at a GoLite Speed to shave some more.

homemade 10x10 tarp, stakes, clips & cord: 1 lb, 14 oz.
cheapo Eddie Bauer 3300 pack: around 3 lbs (haven't weighed it since i made some changes)

sooo... just under 7 pounds. i really need to make or buy a lighter pack. that's the heaviest thing i carry.

Summer bag is ~1.5 lbs, everything else is the same.

If temperature is below 25F I substitute a short Pinnacle bag 2#.

Summer? I don't usually backpack but got a new 11oz hammock I'm anxious to try out.
Hmmmm, maybe next weekend's float trip with Stikmon.......

I wouldn't carry more than 25 pounds in it. make sure that you just load it good..put clothes and lightweight stuff on the outside mesh pocket.

Don't put a lot of stuff in the lid either.
