“I have seen many, many posts on this board. I have met 52 TT'ers. Without exception, I would hike with any of the 52 again. Granted, there are some I like more than others, I have developed closer friendships with fewer rather than more, and I have taken a few comments with a grain of salt. However, what I find is that TT allows such a freedom of expression that no one is afraid to say what they mean and further that almost everyone will engage in some sort of good natured mud slinging.

For those of you with large families, or those of you who work in large companies, examine the personalities here against those at home or at work. Against a large enough population, I don't see much difference. Do we get along on all issues? No. Will any two personalities "click". No. Does everyone have a common bond? Yes.

In the end, politics, religion, and other issues aside, we are pretty much all backpackers. Everyone here enjoys a simple breakfast alongside a clear mountain stream. Seeing the fog rise from a pristine meadow, feeling the exhileration of climbing the long trail, forging ahead to areas that call our names,,,all of those things create a ribbon that keeps most of us intact.

I for one, hope everyone stays on this board. I may not always agree with what is said, but bygod, I will always listen.

I have had many people such as birch and Sass speak at length about your kindness and generosity so I should not have painted you as being all bad. I think some of the people who snipe at you are jealous of the freedom and fun you have and try to bring you down - if they can hurt your feelings, you are taking yourself seriously and get caught up in the crap you usually fly far above.
