Hey - I'm going too - don't forget about me!!

TT - I have to get back Monday night too, and really want to be out of the woods and on the road by no later than 3:30pm. I live on LI, but would be willing to detour into the city...or at least get you to a subway in Queens.

I offered before if you wanted to avoid a train to CT I'd bring you up to NH too...but I can't leave until ~4pm Thursday.

Lemme know what ya wanna do.

MouseSpray, that is not going to put you into NH until late Thursday night. It might be too late to come to the house so I will give you directions to my land, you can still come for breakfast on Friday.

Thanks Mad. I usually make it to that trailhead in 5 1/2 hours, so as long as I'm packed & ready I would definatley be up there before 10pm.

If I leave after 4, I'll get nailed with traffic getting off the island and beyond, that would tack on another hour.

Thanks MS for the offer - but I've already requested Thursday - Monday off at work. However, I could really use the offer on the return trip. I live close to the GW. Maybe we could work something out?

Yeah - count on it. I'll get you home.

I just gotta get back at a reasonable hour. Actually have to do some work when I get home to prepare for a couple of meetings on Tuesday.

oh don't worry - I'm still riding up with you (just want to try and eliminate sitting on a train while stinking after 4 days on the trails) :)

Since I already took the time off and convinced the wife that you guys were not planning to leave my bludgeoned body on the side of a trail, I will be going."

I can't believe Mad brought this up again. I'm really offended on behalf of all TT'ers.

Mad, as I told you last time - TT'ers know enough to bury or pack out waste, and we never pass up free food on the trail.

That wasjust my warped humor kicking in. By the way, you might want to bring an extra set of clean clothes so you can shower and change at the house before heading home. I'm sure MS would appreciate the gesture. You can do the same MS.

Clean up? Nah. Besides, I am a woman. I do not sweat. I bead. I do not stink. I smell like little tea roses.

Yeah. Right.

That brings up an interesting question - personnal hygenie on the trail - any tips?

OMG!! It just hit me - this trip is in one week! I haven't even thought about food and packing! It's a four day trip! I have only done 2 or maybe 2/12 days - eck! what do i do? what to pack? what to eat? ack!

I'm going to spend my time kayakingthis weekend brainstorming yummy dehydrated meals....

Oh - how do you make jerky?

I bring a facecloth and unscented baby wipes. I basically take a sponge bath each night to stay clean. I will pick up my food this weekend while I’m in NH.

Btw, TT if it’s not too presumptuous of me, I was planning on cooking dinner for us on Thursday when we got to the house. If you have other plans, I understand.

I don't know yet, the supemarket usually has nice selection of marinated meat or chicken. I make it up as I go along. I will leave it up to you.

I'll have the lemon-mustard crusted tuna with that spicy glaze you know I like so much...

Upon my arrival, I would like the music to be more bass oriented. That drum roll entrance has really become boring. Also, I hope my iced tea will be cold, and the caviar is fresh...it should pop under the tounge, not just lay there...

Last time we hiked together, he didn't get to the land until well after 11:00pm. I made the mistake of staying up to greet everyone and didn't sleep well that night.
I'm not going to make the same mistake. After a certain time, all arrivees (make up word) will have to camp on the land or pitch a tent on the lawn. This Mature Hiker needs his rest!

Ouch, that hurt. Ok Princess, you can be the official greeter and can stay up until the wee hours of the morning partying with your subject. However, dawn comes mighty early in the mountains, so I don't want to hear any sniveling when Uncle Madman comes knocking on your door in the morning.
MadRiver

Princesses have to go to bed early to get enough beauty sleep. Don't forget, I'm "high maintenance"(sp?).

Sorry, one of my minions will have to do my biding instead.

;) LOL!!!

Hey - that was all Corporal Nasty's "Gay Blue" car's fault!

By the way - don't forget you owe me plentiful libations for having organized such an excellant trip for you guys in PA. (I like vodka - Bellvadere (sp?) would be fine)

hehehe
Twinkle Toes

7/11/03

You needn't fret dear one, Uncle Madman will be stopping at the state liquor store prior to our arrival at the house. After all, old people need their libations as well. Btw, wouldn't it be funny if we all ended up just staying at the house all weekend and getting trashed. Not!

One important item before I leave for the day (1:00pm), we need a good trail name for our group. Please submit all proposals to Princess Twinkle Toes for her consideration.

or

or

"The Pemi Poots...and a Priness"

hahahahahahaha!!!

As in: "What an old poot he is!" or "Those beans I had for dinner sure made me poot" or "shhhhh...keep the poots down or you'll wake up the whole house!"

I have a cell but my is going to be completely useless up there. I also come in a different way. I drive straight north out of Hartford up into Vermont and cut across just north of White Water Junction.
There's this really cool town in Western N. Hamphire with a old missle in the town square, always cracks me up.
