TT - I have to get back Monday night too, and really want to be out of the woods and on the road by no later than 3:30pm. I live on LI, but would be willing to detour into the city...or at least get you to a subway in Queens.

I offered before if you wanted to avoid a train to CT I'd bring you up to NH too...but I can't leave until ~4pm Thursday.

“MouseSpray, that is not going to put you into NH until late Thursday night. It might be too late to come to the house so I will give you directions to my land, you can still come for breakfast on Friday.”

“Thanks Mad. I usually make it to that trailhead in 5 1/2 hours, so as long as I'm packed & ready I would definatley be up there before 10pm.

If I leave after 4, I'll get nailed with traffic getting off the island and beyond, that would tack on another hour.”

“Thanks MS for the offer - but I've already requested Thursday - Monday off at work. However, I could really use the offer on the return trip. I live close to the GW. Maybe we could work something out?”

“Yeah - count on it. I'll get you home.

I just gotta get back at a reasonable hour. Actually have to do some work when I get home to prepare for a couple of meetings on Tuesday.”

I can't believe Mad brought this up again. I'm really offended on behalf of all TT'ers.

Mad, as I told you last time - TT'ers know enough to bury or pack out waste, and we never pass up free food on the trail.”

“OMG!! It just hit me - this trip is in one week! I haven't even thought about food and packing! It's a four day trip! I have only done 2 or maybe 2/12 days - eck! what do i do? what to pack? what to eat? ack!

I'm going to spend my time kayakingthis weekend brainstorming yummy dehydrated meals....

“I bring a facecloth and unscented baby wipes. I basically take a sponge bath each night to stay clean. I will pick up my food this weekend while I’m in NH.

Btw, TT if it’s not too presumptuous of me, I was planning on cooking dinner for us on Thursday when we got to the house. If you have other plans, I understand.”

“I don't know yet, the supemarket usually has nice selection of marinated meat or chicken. I make it up as I go along. I will leave it up to you.”

“Last time we hiked together, he didn't get to the land until well after 11:00pm. I made the mistake of staying up to greet everyone and didn't sleep well that night.
I'm not going to make the same mistake. After a certain time, all arrivees (make up word) will have to camp on the land or pitch a tent on the lawn. This Mature Hiker needs his rest!”

“I will be leaving shortly, so you all have a great weekend. I'm doing a short hike up Mt. Chocorua on Saturday with my new pack. I'll pack it like I would on our trip to see if there are any trouble spots.”

“let us see....I will be leaving Bethlehem Pa around 4pm. Driving like a maniac it takes me about 7hrs so I will be there at my usual 11:30 to 12pm arrival time.”

“I have a cell but my is going to be completely useless up there. I also come in a different way. I drive straight north out of Hartford up into Vermont and cut across just north of White Water Junction.
There's this really cool town in Western N. Hamphire with a old missle in the town square, always cracks me up.”
