I wouldn't be too harsh on us "Mature Hikers", otherwise you might be the one who changes my depends.” 12:01:45 PM 7/16/03 “I change my sons diapers I will not change some old poots diaper i will leave that up to twinkle! You would probably enjoy that more anyway.” 12:04:06 PM 7/16/03 “Bio Freeze is what I was going to bring for you! When I blew my back out dancing - I had to lather it up in this stuff in order to make it through a show. Great stuff! And another thing. No way in hell am I changing anyone's diapers. You will just have to sit there and whimper in your filth.” 12:08:59 PM 7/16/03 “LoL, that said you can't share my tarp with no stinky diapers!” 12:14:37 PM 7/16/03 “I guess I will just have to bring my private nurse with me. I call her sponge bath Betty.” 12:27:28 PM 7/16/03 “Yeah you will definately be sleeping alone in your tent with Betty and her sisters!” 12:34:39 PM 7/16/03 “Oooh, I love tag teams.” 12:39:41 PM 7/16/03 “hmmmm...got a cute doctor for me? Make him tall, dark, and handsome please...” 1:21:26 PM 7/16/03 “I'm not a doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express recently.” 1:35:39 PM 7/16/03 “Rain Rain go away! Sorry guys I think that it is me I haven't been on a trip this year that it didn't rain. How about a short pale average looking guy that flunked out of med school?” 2:09:00 PM 7/16/03 “I'm already committed; so a little rain isn't going to change my mind. The Plymouth State University weather page indicates that the bad weather might remain to the south of us. When TT and I arrive at the house Thursday night, I will check the weather channel for updates.” 2:20:24 PM 7/16/03 “I will be leaving soon and heading home. My home computer is having emotional issues as of late, so I will be incommunicado until it's out of therapy. So if you have any last minute questions before I leave, now is the time to ask them.” 2:33:38 PM 7/16/03 “See you in New Hampshire!” 2:37:32 PM 7/16/03 “See you at the train station Mad! See the rest of you in NH!!! PS - do not forget the tall, dark, and handsome boy toy for me!! grrrrr baby...make sure he is accident prone so he can't run away! and a big nose is very lovable too!” 2:49:39 PM 7/16/03 “Train station? what train station??” 2:53:29 PM 7/16/03 “big nose? whats up with that!” 2:54:43 PM 7/16/03 “I was curious as well, but I didn't want to ask. I just assumed it was a euphemism for something else.” 3:00:54 PM 7/16/03 “Aren't you picking me up at the New Haven train station? uh...I thought that was the plan... :(” 3:01:47 PM 7/16/03 “oh, anyone have extra treking poles?” 3:02:26 PM 7/16/03 “btw, TT, when you call tonight to set up our time to meet, if my wife answers the phone, just breathe heavy and ask for me.” 3:02:36 PM 7/16/03 “I was just joking TT, about the train station that is, not about the breathing hard. You can use my wife's poles. Got to go, see you all in NH.” 3:05:03 PM 7/16/03 “good link to online, printable maps?” 3:14:20 PM 7/16/03 “Okay, I just got really really nervous and excited (I was just looking at the pictures of the peaks again! OMG!!!!!!!!!) I think I will go pee my panties.” 3:21:54 PM 7/16/03 “See you all up there!!!!! I gotta get home - shop - pack - and get some sleep. Been partying a lot this week - it'll catch up to me with a vengence on the trail...” 3:31:00 PM 7/16/03 “Twinkle, I made some copies of the map that i will bring.” 3:32:37 PM 7/16/03 “and my doctor?” 3:37:08 PM 7/16/03 “Sorry no luck!” 3:42:04 PM 7/16/03 “geez - talk about last minute - now I'm running to EMS to get the maps!” 3:48:15 PM 7/16/03 “Got my new pack. Seems pretty cool. What do you think of yours Pepsi?? Sirpete” 5:34:51 PM 7/16/03 “Okay - I want to eliminate some clothes, please help. Here's what I have: silk thermal top and bottom extra silk thermal top fleece pants fleese top fleece hat light gloves light shorts (cotton - ugh) light, quick dry pants 3 pairs of socks liner socks undies (3) bikini tank top Marmot jacket - my problem is that I suspect it might be chilly at night, rainy during the day or hot during the day. The extra thermal top is in case the other gets wet.” 6:57:00 PM 7/16/03 “Twinkle all you will need is the bikini! jk I have been checking the weather for the Summit of Mt Washington and it has only been getting down to the 40's at night up there and that is higher than we are going to be. Personally I would eliminate either the long underwear pants or the fleece pants. Fleece is heavy. My theory is that if it is cold I want to be wearing everything I have to wear including my rain jacket and pants, if I am still cold then it is bed time and I get in my sleeping bag. Wet clothes suck but if they are synthetic they will dry very fast, even as you are wearing them, How cold you get is your call, if you are cold blooded then you might need the extra clothes.” 8:02:59 PM 7/16/03 “thanks - all packed and the bag is a good weight - until water is added - then its borderline heavy. I'm keeping all the clothes for now because I get very cold at night...” 8:14:16 PM 7/16/03 “I'm packing now. Now you have me wondeing if i should bring my long underwear!” 8:28:51 PM 7/16/03 “something lite should do and a little fleece, you can never go wrong there.” 8:37:28 PM 7/16/03 “Hope you all have a great trip! Even you, Masked Marauder!” 8:42:12 PM 7/16/03 “Sirpete, So far I like the new pack except that today it got more expensive. I couldn't reach the bottle in the side pocket with the pack on so I went to get a platypus to put in the top compartment. (My Camelbak bladder didn't fit well). I got a platypus that fits good but somehow I got sidetracked and came home with a new Western Mountaineering bag, about 1.6 lbs, packs about like a football. Now if I only had a spoon.” 10:55:09 PM 7/16/03 “I know the feeling :)” 5:07:15 AM 7/17/03 “pepsi, nobody can resist teh Western Mountaineering bag. Don't feel bad...you never had a chance. :o) Have a fun time you guys! You picked an awesome route. I can't wait to see pics and hear reports. Take it easy on that back, madman...Maybe sneak those wine bottles into some unsuspecting person's pack. Ya making waffles? cheers!” 5:59:34 AM 7/17/03 “There is going to be alot of virgin equipement on the trail this weekend! Pepsi what Bag did you get? I can't wait to get on the trail! It is making work very hard today!” 8:38:54 AM 7/17/03 “Osprey Aether 60. Sir pete just got the same pack, but hasn't said if he's going to use it yet. Mad is using a new one too, but I forget what brand he said.” 9:15:28 AM 7/17/03 “Sleeping Bag?” 9:34:55 AM 7/17/03 “oops, Caribou” 9:42:39 AM 7/17/03 “Cool!” 10:00:56 AM 7/17/03 “See you tonight, those that haven't already left. I still want to lose a few pounds, maybe when we compare duplicated items.” 11:36:13 AM 7/17/03 “You just bring it so I don't have to! LOL How much does your pack weigh? Mines at 33lbs with food and no water.” 12:34:09 PM 7/17/03 “The weather seems like it might be improving for this trip. They are now calling for partly cloudy all weekend with a chance of rain on Monday. I'll keep doing my Sundance!” 1:34:32 PM 7/17/03 “Am I the only one left stuck at work? Has everyone else left already?” 1:35:18 PM 7/17/03 “Guess so boo hoo.” 3:37:05 PM 7/17/03 “Have fun guys - the 12 hour drive, combined with a 9:00 am meeting on Monday morning have booted me from this trip. I planned on going up until 20 minutes ago. Man I need to get to the Whites soon!” 4:03:27 PM 7/17/03 “sorry to hear that Buddha it would have been nice to meet you. I am still stuck at home also. I am hoping to leave soon.” 5:54:39 PM 7/17/03 Jump to Page << prev
