Here's what I have:

silk thermal top and bottom
extra silk thermal top
fleece pants
fleese top
fleece hat
light gloves
light shorts (cotton - ugh)
light, quick dry pants
3 pairs of socks
liner socks
undies (3)
bikini
tank top

- my problem is that I suspect it might be chilly at night, rainy during the day or hot during the day. The extra thermal top is in case the other gets wet.”

I have been checking the weather for the Summit of Mt Washington and it has only been getting down to the 40's at night up there and that is higher than we are going to be. Personally I would eliminate either the long underwear pants or the fleece pants. Fleece is heavy.
My theory is that if it is cold I want to be wearing everything I have to wear including my rain jacket and pants, if I am still cold then it is bed time and I get in my sleeping bag.

Wet clothes suck but if they are synthetic they will dry very fast, even as you are wearing them,

How cold you get is your call, if you are cold blooded then you might need the extra clothes.”

“thanks - all packed and the bag is a good weight - until water is added - then its borderline heavy. I'm keeping all the clothes for now because I get very cold at night...”

“Sirpete, So far I like the new pack except that today it got more expensive. I couldn't reach the bottle in the side pocket with the pack on so I went to get a platypus to put in the top compartment. (My Camelbak bladder didn't fit well). I got a platypus that fits good but somehow I got sidetracked and came home with a new Western Mountaineering bag, about 1.6 lbs, packs about like a football.

Now if I only had a spoon.”
