the hulk - best comic book movie ever?View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 23 of 23 messages posted.
“i just saw it twice this weekend, and it is easily the best movie based on a marvel comics property, maybe the best comic movie ever, although the crow is probably still the best. also, of all the major fanboy moives out so far, its the best, better than matrix reloaded (but not better than the original), better than x2, probably wont be better than return of the king. undoubtedly will be better than loeg.” 8:45:49 PM 6/23/03 “I have a #61 Hulk comic book.” 9:01:28 PM 6/23/03 “HULK SMASH!” 9:03:43 PM 6/23/03 “Movie looks good, I want to check it out. From what I've seen in the previews, they did a good job at keeping the comic book kind of feel to it in the animation, while still being realistic. That's a fine line to walk.” 9:07:33 PM 6/23/03 “the animation could have been a little less cartoony, unless thats what they were going for. when i first heard about it, it was funny to think of the director of crouching tiger to be directing this film. the hulk could never delicately glide from rooftop to rooftop.” 9:12:03 PM 6/23/03 “I always like Hulk as a kid but Spider-Man was my favorite. I gotta go and check out The Hulk movie. Seems like they could have gotten some steroid shootin' junkie to be the Hulk instead of him being an animated character.” 9:20:35 PM 6/23/03 “wouldnt have been big enough” 9:24:31 PM 6/23/03 “Ain't ya glad his pants never rip off? I don't wanna see his big green shlong.” 9:26:22 PM 6/23/03 “The hulk looks too computer animated. I think they should have found a real guy to play the hulk.” 10:26:39 PM 6/23/03 Let me tellya about my best friend,,,,,,, “In my book it will never hold a candle to the original TV series with Bill Bixby and Lou howeveryouspellit. Give the era and special effects of the time, the original, to me, seems more 'realistic' than the animated version. That maybe the only thing that keeps me from seeing this movie, the animated Hulkster. It just looks to cartoonish in previews. Not to sound to light in the loafers, but back in the days I had a Spider-man doll aka. 'action figurine' and some Planet of the Apes dolls. Man,,,, where those some good battles till Steve Austin came around. That dude was strong. ( danannanananna donononononon)” 10:35:08 PM 6/23/03 “lol briar and WD... i haven't seen the hulk yet. i like the batman movies(the 1st 2 especially) and spiderman was pretty cool.... i used this line on my 5 yr old today when he wouldn't clean his room...he saw the hulk this weekend.... you're making me angry...you won't like me when i'm angry.... he cleaned his room really good after that, LMDAO!” 10:43:26 PM 6/23/03 “Dude! They are ACTION FIGURES! Not Dolls. Dolls are for girls.” 11:23:21 PM 6/23/03 “I had heard that the Hulk came out looking plastic-y because of the green of his skin. I was amused at how one second he was small enough to walk through a door but the next he was nearly as big as the tank he was tossing like toy. I don't know, the origanal Batman movie or Spiderman is tough to beat. Gawd that Six Million Dollar Man figure was the shiznit! You could look through the little hole in the back of his head and see through his bionic eye? What could be cooler? I always wanted the cool as hell red running suite he wore. And was there ever a kid that owned a Stretch Armstrong that DIDN'T yield to his curiousity and poke him to see what was inside?” 11:32:06 PM 6/23/03 “ummmm what do you mean by "poke him"?” 11:49:48 PM 6/23/03 “Like with a knife...” 11:54:06 PM 6/23/03 “i agree briar rabbitt - me and my brothers watched the original all the time - i want to see the movie but it may spoil my memories of the show” 7:22:02 AM 6/24/03 “I was always fond of the Archie comics. Veronica was (is) hot and made my tummy feel funny!” 8:26:14 AM 6/24/03 “I haven't seen it, but have read about it and seen stuff on TV. IMHO, as far as the comic book to movies thing: The 1st Batman with M. Keaton is the best so far. Growing up, I was more into Star Wars (I still have just a bunch of Star Wars sh't in the basement). What's going to be cool is when I bring all my stuff out that basement up for my sons to play it, for a short time of course. I dont't want to damage what will be there college fund LOL! My boy Max is so into it, he introduced himself at his first soccer practice as "Anikin". Too cute....” 9:17:56 AM 6/24/03 “One my favorites was The Fantastic Four. But the Hulk eneded up being number one especially after Bill Bixby and Lou F. I will have to go see it in the movies soon !!!” 11:32:18 AM 6/24/03 “movie sucked big time. don't waste your money. too long. special effects were disappointing.” 11:36:54 AM 6/24/03 oh oh... “its mr negativity again...sheesh...do you ever have anything nice to say???” 11:49:11 AM 6/24/03 Mutt, Thanks, but no thanks “Wasting time is my best asset, besides it can't be any worse then "Kung Pow, enter The Fist"” 11:55:05 AM 6/24/03 “I really dug the movie. The Hulk was my absolute favorite growing up. I definitely thought it was slow to get started but WOW! some of those scenes were amazing. IMHO, this is what The Hulk really is. He's enormous, twice the height of a man, no way a real actor could play it. I liked how in some scenes he would grow before your eyes as he got more mad, like when getting pelted with bullets. I got a little tired of the sectioned-off-picture-in-picture-comic-book-like-multiple-shots-on-the-screen-at-the-same-time thing by the end, but I could deal with it. I also wish there weren't so many night time scenes. Sometimes it was really hard to see what was going on. The tank scene was the bomb, though, and worth my admission price by itself. Oh, I didn't like it when the Redwood tree got hurt. LOL...but it's true.” 2:40:09 PM 6/25/03
