Space Weather News for June 23, 2003
http://spaceweather.com

Prospects look good on June 23rd for the launch of four rockets from
Wallops Island, Virginia. Harmless chemicals released by three of the rockets will create some lovely high-altitude clouds visible from parts of the US east coast. Sky watchers near coastal Virginia, North Carolina,
Maryland, New Jersey, Washington DC, and possibly parts of lower New York and Pennsylvania are favored. The launch window extends from 9:30 p.m. to
2:24 a.m. EDT.

Visit Spaceweather.com for more information. If you happen to see the clouds tonight and take pictures of them, please submit your images to spaceweather.com for possible web publication.

"Harmless chemicals?" Ha. Sounds like a cover for the laying of more chemtrails to me.

And what's this about four rockets being launched, but only three releasing harmless chemicals? Obviously, by saying that three of the rockets will release harmless chemicals, but saying nothing about the fourth, someone from spaceweather.com is trying to warn us that the fourth rocket will be releasing some sort of chemtrail material.

Oh yeah, the launch was delayed until tonight, so if you missed it last night, looks like you get another chance.

THey did this before back in hte early 90s. It made a nice purple cloud way up. It was pretty. I'll watch for it again.

"Spaceweather PHONE"??

Apparently, they'll call you up and play a recorded message when the rockets finally launch.

Bad Craziness.

Sorry, TB... I think we're both too far south.

But there IS a webcast... And there should be some photos later at Sky & Telescope and some other sites (including the SpaceWeather site).

Presently,

"At 12:30 a.m. the range remains at T-10 minutes and holding. Approxiamtely 1 hour remains until the first rocket must be launched if the mission is to be conducted tonight."

Cool ---

Well, the webcast is working. I can see the rockets on their launcher-erectors... waiting for the ionisphere to do its thing or whatever.

Which reminds me of that limmerick from Gravity's rainbow...

An engineer by the name Hector
Was fond of a launcher-erector
But the squishes and pops
Of acute pressure drops
Wrecked Hector's hydraulic connector

The rockets look like they're being returned to a horizontal position...

Yep! Scrubbed again --

"At 1:17 a.m. the decision has been made to scrub tonight's launch attempt. In further analysis, the 2 southern camera sites were not hampered by clouds but by haze from the heat and humidity. Following the weather briefing in the next 10 minutes we will post the next launch attempt."

LOL....

NOW they're saying...

"One night soon, between June 28th and July 10th, US east coast sky watchers will see some beautifully glowing man-made clouds over the Atlantic Ocean."

I saw this
At about 2am Monday morning I was still out on a date from the night before and the girl I was with looked up and said "what the hell is that?" I turned around and saw what looked to be a vapor trail starting in the middle of nowhere and traveling south. It didn't go far before it just stoped, but it was glowing and the wind started to thist it around. I was freeked out. A few minutes later the same thing happened except there was a large circular cloud where the vapor trail started. It really spooked me at first, but after a while I remembered the Army's atmospheric testing at Redstone when I was a kid. It looked kind of the same, but with colors.

Virginia Beach, VA.

If bit is looking for a girl, he can get a job as a bouncer. I get hit on at least once a night when I'm working.

Va. Beach would've been a prime location to see the 'clouds' from Wallops. It sounds like it was a killer show.

BTW, I found District 9 disappointing. It started off well with a decent premise for our times, what with the displacement of the poor in Vancouver for the Olympics and the destruction of La jungle in Calais, Fr., but it ended up as a tranformer/buddy flick.
