Desolation Wilderness, July 4th weekend, but we'll be back in time for fireworks on the 4th. Entering on the West side on 2nd, hiking thru the valley & over Dick's Pass & coming down to Tahoe at Eagle Falls on the 4th.

“didn't want to be exclusionary, trip is open to all, Tahoe is the only guy I know from Reno area...”

“Wanderer,

I've no plans that weekend but won't be able to hit the trail until the 3rd. If it pans out maybe I'll go in and meet you that afternoon. Where do you plan on camping that night?”

“I'd love to do a trip with TTers, but I'm going on a trip the week before. We're bagging Desolation in favor of the the Tahoe National Forest (north of I-80). We'll be in the Black Buttes area.”

“1st night we're at Clyde Lake, 2nd at Gilmore, but I can rearrange if you want to hook up somewhere else. So far just me & Wanderer jr., although since he's now bigger than me I guess he gets to carry the extra stuff! WHOOHOO.”

“Wanderer, if jr. can pack some brews in for me, I'm there. I still might be there regardless. Gilmore would be fine. The next day I might climb higher, maybe watch some fireworks over Tahoe from a high perch.”

“Hey Dunk, are you still joining us?

Tahoe, welcome home, hope you can come out to play!”

“I won't be able to do this one. My boss wants me back at the job after the two weeks off. I wish I could though, it sounds like a great time.”

“I'm about 80% sure. What day are you heading in? When would you arrive at Gilmore?”
