Causation vs. CorrelationView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 9 of 9 messages posted.
“Interesting article on education level vs. Alzheimers. Study finds link between Alzheimer's, education level although the correlative link appears to be there, I'm not sure they've established the causative link. It could very well be that those with a resistance to Alzheimers may also have more of a propensity to seek higher levels of education.” 4:09:12 PM 6/24/03 “I guess the permanent students out there are safe then. THe son of my dentist started college right after hs and didn't finish a degree until he was 42.” 4:32:36 PM 6/24/03 “i was gonna say somethin......but i forget what it was.....oh well” 4:35:47 PM 6/24/03 “For a second I thought this was Caucasion vs. Coronation which is just a bit rediculous, considering most coronations are held in caucasion monarchial communities--you know the ones where they exploit the workers--hanging on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic and social differences in our society. Have to wonder why I'm even posting now.” 6:19:35 PM 6/24/03 Maybe It's Brain Stimulation That Deters It “Yeah sure. Tell that to those of high intelligence that suffer with Alzheimer's.” 7:03:43 PM 6/24/03 “no i think theres something to that. i also skimmed a report that links mentally stimulating recreation for the elderly to putting off of old-timers...err i mean alzheimers disease.....” 8:21:16 PM 6/24/03 “i think i also heard an urban legend that there are trace amounts of aluminum in velveeta cheese to make it melt so well (has anybody ever made a cheese sandwich with 2 slices of extra thick velveeta? dont), which in turn lead to alzheimers....can anyone bunk or debunk said legend?” 8:25:08 PM 6/24/03 Aluminum and Alzheimers... “There is currently no hard evidence establishing or disproving any causal link between aluminum and Alzheimers. See the discussion of such on Snopes and also at ” 9:55:37 AM 6/25/03 oops... “See the discussion of such on Snopes and also at Try again: See the discussion of such on Snopes and also at Scientific American” 9:57:12 AM 6/25/03
