I'm not scared of crowds etc. I will be there bright and early Saturday morning!

Mather and Lizard are going also but I haven't talked Mather into floating yet. She just wants to hang out in Hardy and around camp.

Lizard has invited a friend but the no word yet as to whether it will work out or not.

Chilli or MrsChili are you guys going to be renting canoes from Many Islands or do you take your own canoes?

We expect to be there in the morning between 8 & 8:30. Is that early enough for you guys? We will most likely show up in a gold Toyota Sienna with a blue boat on top. If you rent from Many Islands I could just meet you at the little camp ground store.

JGILES please tell me it isn't true that you can't even do a day trip between now and this fall. We may just have to start floating with your brother. And tell the truth - the Spring River provides a great float!!!

Stikmon I think you'd like the Spring. Remember that last little set of rapids on 11 Point? Well multiply that many times over and you have the upper Spring River. The stretch between Many Islands and Hardy has some really kick butt drops that'll challenge any overloaded canoe.

Mozark...
I understand that...and have talked with Dave last night...he wants to do the spring too...but...where will we camp? again, I was told that all the lands are private along the river. That is my only concern. I don't want to stay in no steeenkin campground. I'm so over the campground scene...I'd rather car camp on the side of a road or something.

More info
Gee, Stikmon I don't know what to say about camping except that there are a lot of commercial boat rentals/camp grounds along the river. Some are very large and some are small. I think you would survive.

Maybe you could camp out on one of the islands?

The plan is to meet at "Many Islands" little store where they rent canoes between 8:00-8:30 but that may be a bit early for those driving in Sat morning. Maybe we could let it slide a half hour say 8:30-9:00. How does that sound to you guys?
