Bosque on Fire

“The Bosque is on fire! I took this from my roof.



The Rio Grande runs through Albuquerque. The river plain is covered by a cottonwood and brush forest called the "Bosque". It caught on fire this afternoon and has burned between 600 and 1000 acres, threatened hundreds of homes. At one point the fire was moving 20 mph.”

“It snarled traffic going west on I-40, north on I-25, up and down Coors, N. 4th, 2nd etc. Montano and Paseo del Norte going west were brought to a near standstill. I-40 was closed for a while.”
