OK I admit it! I'm adicted to the History Channel. If being a geek and loving it is wrong I don't want to be right! I like the military history the best. They had a series on called The Color of War that was so well done. I watched The True Story of the Big Red 1 today and was amazed at how those damn guys fought like hell for so long. Mail Call is da bomb too!

Any other history geeks here?

I love it, but....
I'm a HUGE History Channel fan...but I can do without "Mail Call". I used to like Army and watched Full Metal Jacket all the time before that show started airing... Now I can't watch the film without thinking of his damn HC program! :-)

Birch is the biggest Sgt. Hartman fan I've seen. He even has a Sgt. Hartman action figure (READ: DOLL) that says all his best lines. LOL! It's really cool!

Father's Day weekend was a waste. Between The History Channel and AMC doing all war movies, I was in my chair all weekend.

Anybody heard of this book? At a second hand store I picked up a 1949 edition of a book by DD Eisenhower entitled "Crusade in Europe". Evidently, Pres Eisenhower wrote a book about the planning of the war. I haven't started it yet, but will soon.
