AntiGravityGear 3.8 oz 3 cup cookpot report
AntiGravityGear

I ordered three of AntiGravityGear's 3 cup cookpots very late online Monday night. Payment and order was handled with PayPal. Wed. morning I got an email saying my order had been shipped. They were sitting on my doorstep when I got home today (Friday).

The pots were well packaged and in good shape.
Tin Man had even included one of their pot cozys and a pot clamp handle (no charge).

The advertised weight is right on for all products except the pot clamp handle. The pot clamp handle was 0.1 oz LESS than the advertised weight.

On my scale:
2.5 oz - pot
1.3 oz - lid
1.0 oz - cozy
1.3 oz - clamp handle

The pot is 5 & 1/8" in dia. and 2 & 5/8" high.
I measured a brim to brim liquid capacity of 3 & 1/2 cups. The 3 cup rating is about right for boiling.

The inside is coated with a nonstick coating and the outside and bottom appears to be the same.

Nice product. I think this will be an outstanding ultralight solo cookpot.
They will work well with my windscreen/potstand designs.

Nice pot StoveStomper! I had been looking at the Greasepot but it looked to flimsy. I broke down and went for the Titanium kettle from MSR.

That Titanium kettle is quickly becoming the latest thing in gear. Almost everybody on my trip this weekend had one.

My aluminum pot works pretty well but is very wide. I'm thinking of going to something smaller.

I'm not sure they picked that size, I prefer it to be just a little bigger - little more flexible.

I was using a Primus tea kettle, you know the one with the little spout. It is great for boiling water but I wanted something that I could actually cook in.
With the MSR kettle I can make pasta and soup and some other recipes that need to simmer. I wish that it was big enough for a MSR cannister to fit into! What were they thinking? It is about 5mm too small of a diameterr.

I have quite a few different cook pots. My fav is the evernew 0.9L ti. It has covered foldout handles and you can pick up the hot pot without getting burned. The bottom is fairly wide and it's pretty fuel efficient. I had the MSR ti kettle but didn't care for the tall narrow design and the evernew boiled water much faster. I gave the MSR pot to maple.

LtHiker - The MSR ti kettle is a good pot, I'm not knocking it.
I just like the evernew better.
Personal preference.

I've got the 1.3 litre evernew. I was looking at some of those 'boilers' recently and I was thinking the same thing... there's very little surface area on the bottom to apply the heat to.

Weird.

Wounded Knee - You need to checkout my windscreen/potstand designs.

The Primus Trek Kettle is nice . it is different from the Primus coffee/tea Kettle. The trek kettle is more of a pot and only weighs 7.62 oz. It works very well.

That extra 2/100 of an oz. was the deal breaker for me! Too heavy. ;)
