The remains were recovered approximately 20 miles northwest of Baghdad, Central Command said, after an exhaustive search using helicopters, armored vehicles and tanks. The soldiers -- Sgt. 1st Class Gladimir Philippe, 37, of Linden, New Jersey, and Pfc. Kevin Ott, 27, of Columbus, Ohio -- were last reported traveling in a Humvee near a checkpoint when military officials lost contact with them. It was not immediately clear how they died, but the checkpoint has been the site of attacks against U.S. forces. Six people were in custody in connection with the case, officials said. Meanwhile, in the latest reported assault on coalition forces, a U.S. soldier was killed and four were wounded Friday night when their convoy was attacked in a northern neighborhood of Baghdad, a U.S. military spokesman said. An Iraqi, who was working as an interpreter, was also wounded in the attack just before 11 p.m. local time (1900 GMT) Friday in the district of Thawra, the spokesman said. The wounded were taken to the Army's 28th combat support hospital in Baghdad. A day earlier, two U.S. troops were killed and eight wounded, the military said. One U.S. military official has called the rash of confrontations between Iraqis and U.S. personnel a "classic phase of insurgency." http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/06/28/sprj.irq.main/index.html” 11:06:05 AM 6/28/03 “It is not a Bush lie, it is a Republican conspiracy.” 11:10:57 AM 6/28/03 “this will be tha last comment i ever make on a thread created by alaska....” 6:42:53 PM 6/28/03 “Strat, don't be mad just because he spells better than you do.” 7:06:37 PM 6/28/03 “8x” 7:08:49 PM 6/28/03 “THAT'S A POST! THAT COUNTS!” 7:11:53 PM 6/28/03 “Stratdewd is a liiiiiiar! Stratdewd is a liiiiiiar! Stratdewd is a liiiiiiar! nyaaa nyaaa nyaaaaaaaaaaaa!” 7:12:43 PM 6/28/03 “8x!” 7:15:41 PM 6/28/03 “"this will be tha last comment i ever make on a thread created by alaska...." stratdewd 8X” 7:16:45 PM 6/28/03 “Yup. Stratdewd comment galore on this thread here.” 7:17:21 PM 6/28/03 “Main Entry: 1com·ment Pronunciation: 'kä-"ment Function: noun Etymology: Middle English, from Late Latin commentum, from Latin, invention, from neuter of commentus, past participle of comminisci to invent, from com- + -minisci (akin to ment-, mens mind) -- more at MIND Date: 14th century 1 : COMMENTARY 2 : a note explaining, illustrating, or criticizing the meaning of a writing 3 a : an observation or remark expressing an opinion or attitude b : a judgment expressed indirectly "8x!" definitely counts. Big liar.” 7:19:45 PM 6/28/03 “`” 7:30:35 PM 6/28/03 “The difference between Bush and Clinton is that Bush has a clear-cut exit strategy....uhhhh....nevermind!!!” 9:56:29 PM 6/28/03 “Americans were being killed in Germany into the early 50's after WWII. If Alaska wasn't so gay he'd be queer.” 11:28:01 PM 6/28/03 repub VS demo “If you're gonna argue politics. Just look what the Democrats have done to California. And tell me something good about that!” 10:39:09 AM 7/27/03 “Prop 13 in California (a Republican law) bankrupted the state's police departments, fire departments, social services. A Republican law has made it a requirement to have a Social Security number in order to receive emergency health care - thus, while Californians have no problem paying illegal immigrants $ 2 / hour to clean their pools, they'll have them arrested and deported if they go to a hospital. How about California's "energy crisis" of 2001? This was a totally artificial SCAM orchestrated by none other than Enron and "Kenny Boy" Lay (Bush's largest campaign contributor).” 12:16:27 PM 7/27/03 “Ronald Regan (R), Dukmejian (R), Pete Wilson (R), but all of of problems are because of Grey Davis.” 12:35:13 PM 7/27/03 “hmmm..lets see....Democratic gov.,Senate and Assembly. Can you name a high ranking republican right now?. No problem. Lets blame some republicans from the 70's, 80's and 90's...lol. Our statewide elections are controlled by the big cities.” 6:19:29 PM 7/27/03 “btw...prop. 13 by definition was VOTED on by the people NOT republicans. Whats a SSN got to do with our multi billion dollar debt? When Davis and friends took over our state budget was around 65 billion 2 years later 103 billion (costs a lot to pay for votes) As for the energy crisis (deregulation approved by a democrat legistlature) That was caused by the democrats and special interest killing any chance of developing new power sources the past 20 years” 6:31:13 PM 7/27/03 “That sounds like Some people I know blaming the current economy on Clinton. How's the national debt running these days... ? <GRIN> As previously stated, it sounds like you missed the Senate hearings about the scams the energy companies pulled to MANUFACTURE the famous rolling blackouts to generate windfall profits (while the Republicans were busy blaming it all on 'those damned environmentalists'). I believe the recurring phrase was 'gaming the system'.” 7:51:59 PM 7/27/03 “So is it as black and white as either the Republicans (current admin.) are responsible for the fed deficit & economy and Democrats are off the hook, while Calif. Democrats (current admin) are responsible for state deficit and Calif economy and the Repubs are off the hook? Or, in both cases are the previous admins responsible while the new admins are off the hook? I think both parties deserve some of the blame, as well as the natural ebbs and tides that have occured through the history of our country and of calif.” 8:04:50 PM 7/27/03 If.. Then... “IF Davis should be recalled, THEN why not recall Bush? Let's escalate these political battles a bit more, shall we? Is this more 'gaming the system'? If this succeeds, what's to prevent Democrats from doing the same thing to a Republican Governor in retaliation next year... and ad infinitum? I think it's a bad precedent.” 8:29:56 PM 7/27/03 “...a bad precedent that may have started with the many recounts in Florida. If that's not trying to rewrite an election than what is. Let's see... if we have 10 recounts and one shows Gore winning, that will be the valid one. Yeah right! Both Dems and Reps play dirty politics and spin excuses all the time. They are both equally dishonest and manipulative and influenced by special interests...heck, that's the definition of modern politics.” 9:07:46 PM 7/27/03 “Have there been any more elections decided by the Supreme Court? I think this does set a bad precedent (that's going forward, BTW). Time will tell.” 9:38:28 PM 7/27/03 “"Decided by the Supreme Court?" What a joke Tilt. If the democraps hadn't tried to skirt the law in the first place it would of never went to the Supreme Court. You are a MORON.” 9:50:40 PM 7/27/03 “AMEN ultra and Tilt...the recall is part of a process called democracy. Democrats can partake in the process too” 11:15:06 PM 7/27/03 “The recall will bring Jerry Brown back as gov.--is that workin?” 5:54:18 AM 7/28/03 “I'm sorry I don't recall...Oh wait, someone else made that statement famous” 8:34:55 AM 7/28/03 “ ”9:07:33 AM 7/28/03 “Staying true to form I see UU, no vailid point, no facts and a picture, say "gay liberals" now and your side of things will be complete.” 9:12:31 AM 7/28/03 “Tee Hee Hee!” 9:16:22 AM 7/28/03 “As long as you are comfortable with yourself, there will be no need for UU to do that... so I will, gay liberal.” 9:17:42 AM 7/28/03 You can come out now, Packman! 9:27:48 AM 7/28/03 “Only in California.” 9:32:45 AM 7/28/03 “ ”9:37:32 AM 7/28/03 “Yeah.... and?” 9:39:43 AM 7/28/03 “Well it shocked the Bush's on their African trip!” 9:40:50 AM 7/28/03 “Lil' Georgie wanted to know what the elephants were doing.” 9:42:49 AM 7/28/03 “But Mommy, they're both boy elephants!” 9:43:53 AM 7/28/03 “It was just another Republican coming out Aero.” 9:45:20 AM 7/28/03 “they're so repressed!” 9:46:06 AM 7/28/03 “which one is UU and which one is packman? - who's the #&%!$ in that relationship?” 9:47:54 AM 7/28/03 “Enlighten us Ynamiynamiynamiynami, you seem to be more up on the "alternative lifestyle" lingo than the rest of us.” 9:51:08 AM 7/28/03 “ ”10:03:29 AM 7/28/03 “I'll for for any of them over Davis!..lol. (Except the cat)” 10:10:41 AM 7/28/03 “Yo Mammy!” 10:17:06 AM 7/28/03 “Wow. Yet another wannabe fascist troll. The last presidential election WAS decided by the Supreme Court. Were you under a rock somewhere? I think you bimbos who should learn to READ before you begin casting aspersions. Go get the dictionary and look it up, LOL” 10:24:34 AM 7/28/03 “The last presidential election WAS decided by the Supreme Court. Were you under a rock somewhere? I think you bimbos who should learn to READ before you begin casting aspersions. Have you actually read the decision, or just going with what the media outlets decide to tell you? The decision made was that the Florida Supreme Court's decision violated the Equal Protection clause of the 14th ammendment. GEORGE W. BUSH, et al., PETITIONERS v. ALBERT GORE, Jr., et al.” 12:23:51 PM 7/28/03 “Who made the final determination? You know.” 12:31:57 PM 7/28/03 “Who made the final determination? You know. Read the decision and learn, Grasshopper. Then you too shall know. Read the dissenting opinions too. Learn. Think. Educate yourself instead of suckling at the teat of the media. The final determination was made by Katherine Harris. The rest was just whining and crying and bandying about. Supreme Court only said that the lower court's decision that one should treat some ballots different from other ballots was unconstitutional. It did NOT say they they couldn't do a recount. (the inability to do so in time was due to other factors) Although from CNN, the following has an amusing little tidbit. Gore actually conceded the election on election night, then later called Bush back and recanted his concession. Gore concedes presidential election” 12:54:00 PM 7/28/03 Jump to Page |  1 | 2
