Yesterday on White Mountain (14,246 feet)
We day hiked the "easiest" California peak over 14,000 yesterday. It was a beautiful day - weather was perfect and the scenery was spectacular.

Here are some pictures I took:

Hey! The White Mountains are in New Hampshire. How'd they out there? ;o)

Beautiful pics though.

Yes, we have the White Mountains here in CA also. You don't hear much about them because of the Sierras just across the dessert.

wingding0,

Wow! Great pictures! Thanks for posting.

In maybe 3 years (once I retire), I'm considering doing an extended vagabond-type, hiking-camping-occasional-motel-room trip around the U.S.A. and Western Canada. Your White Mtns. will definitely be on my itinerary.

Thanks, WD...great stuff. We almost went from Horseshoe Meadow and Cottonwood pass hikes and Lone Pine to White Mountain the first of June, but we ended up
staying in Lone Pine for a couple days. Mistake. Not much in Lone Pine. 95 degrees.

not New Hampshire....
I was confused also at first. I wondered why I didn't recognize anything.

Beautiful views though!

Nice photos! When I did it last year there was an inch of new snow on the ground.
