The dancers seem to live a really long time for some reason. Could it be all the aerobic exercise? I dunno...

....Except for an allergy to aluminum paint, he would have been one of the Yellow Brick Road quartet in the classic The Wizard of Oz. After 10 days of filming, Ebsen fell ill because of the aluminum makeup on his skin and was replaced as the Tin Man by Jack Haley......

Dang.....so long buddy....

Jim Varney was a good Uncle Jed.

Hey, he's dead too!

Now 100% of the people who have played Jed Clampett are dead. Is there something cursed about this role?

I can see it now. Instead of saying "the Scottish play" when they mean MacBeth, actors will say "the Hillbilly role" when they mean "Jed Clampett".

Maybe Tom Terrific will reprise the role on Broadway.

Can't be that fortunate.

Hmmm, don't know how I missed that one. I liked him, I think just because he was so campy.
Interestingly enough, my aunt (mom's sister) lives in the house he grew up in.

How many remember him as being Davy Crocketts buddy in all of those old Disney programs. I think everyone wore a coonskin cap back then.

I sail boat raced with Buddy over 40 years ago. His small boat was named,' Rebel Yell'.We had fun,he was great, yet, the boats name said alot about his thinking.

Fess Parker was Davy Crockett.

Those white boys sure kilt a mess o' redskins.

It was the '50s and that sort of thing was politically correct for the times.

Do any of you guys remember the Zorro TV show?
I watched it as a kid and saw it again recently.
That show was non-stop mayhem once they got to the shooting part.
And there was BIG FAT Sargent Garcia....he musta weighed 400 # and rode a one-ton draft horse.
