British Lawmakers Assail Government for Iraqi Arms Report

LONDON, July 7 —

"A parliamentary committee today sharply criticized the government's handling of prewar intelligence on Iraqi weapons and said it resulted in Prime Minister Tony Blair's unknowingly misinforming the House of Commons on reasons for going to war."

"The minority argued that the panel, which has no subpoena power, had been denied access to officials and reports that would have given it the basis to arrive at such a conclusion."
