Where to put the Tent...
I just got a Dana Design Glacier and I'm wondering where to put my tent? Inside or outside? Any advice would be welcome.

Does your roof leak?

Just A Wild Suggestion
How about putting it in the very bottom compartment of your pack, and saving the upper portion of your pack for the rest of your items.

I prefer to keep everything inside of my pack. I hate when things get caught on branches and such. The only downside about keeping it inside is if it is wet.

I think...
you should put it in a fed ex box and send it to me so that I can put it in the inside of MY pack.

Inside if possible, outside if you run out of room.

Foe me, it depends on the weather... if it looks like rain, it gets wrapped up in my RidgeRest so I don't have to expose everything in my pack to rain while I'm trying to get the tent out.

If you can pack it in, put it at the top. Then you do not have to dig for it when you stop to set up camp.

Put it in the sleeping bag compartment at the bottom. That way its seperated even if its wet.

I thought you were supposed to lash everything to the outside of the Glacier... or was that the TerraQuest...

Only if it becomes a bio mechanical component of the floating suspension supports within the frame work of the internal collapsible ridged feature.

I have a Gregory Shasta. I put mine inside, and forward, in a vertical-upright position. It sits on top of my MSR pot which has the stove inside the pot.

My sleeping pad is behind the tent towards the back of the pack. I then pack my clothes and food around the sides of these two "tubes".

I try to keep the heaviest items closer to my back, and the lighter stuff towards the back or top of the pack.

Sleeping bag is in the bottom compartment, rain suit in the top compartment, along with maps.

The bourbon goes wherever it will fit.

Nice plan Chief! What about the cigars?

Don't smoke cigars.

But, the smoke, it can go into the pinch hitter!!!

And that fits nicely in my pocket.

Thanks,

I put it inside my pack along my spine like chief said he does. Worked well. Though I think the tent minus the poles wraped around my sleeping bag in the sleeping bag compartment might do well. Going to try that next weekend.
