Is this a great lightweight suggestion or a foolish, reckless practice that could strain SAR resources?

Violin,

Some of your threads are beginning to make me wonder. Why don't you go on the Big Bend trip with us later this year and test your theory?

We promise to send help if it doesn't work.

Based on Nigal's orginal testing - I have put the two bag water bag to the test. I have modified it slightly - I find Target ags to be a little more durable.

It was funny for the simple fact that bacpac thought I was using them for actual waterbags to carry water in while hiking. I used them for water BUCKETS.

The only thing I would find more moronic is someone still not understanding this two years laters. In a land of morons Violin is king.

That is a funny image. Water slshing in big grocery bags, swinging to and fro.

What's nice here in FLA is that the bags serve as big buckets to let the flotsam and jetsam from the ponds settle before pumping. It helps a little. But the water is still a pump nightmare.

I'm honored Nigal, but the Moron King position is already filled.

I like the idea of nigal carrying water in a plastic bag.

Then again, I like the idea of nigal carrying bacpac in a plastic bag.

Shopping bags are great for just about everything. I always have a few in my pack as well as a lawn and leaf bag. I use the shopping bags as simi-waterproof stuff sacks for odd things, I put my shoes in them to keep the tent clean, for trash...all kinds of things. A water proof stuff sack is a great bucket too as well as a washing machine on longer hikes.
