I checked out your website, which is awsome, and viewed the cameras and lenses you use to take your amazing photos. I have a few questions for you.

1. I'm looking for an affordable, beginner zoom lense to be used mainly while backpacking and taking outdoor scenery shots. Currently, I own a Canon Rebel X, and don't want to spend too much money - can you reccomend a lense?

2. Are Nikkor AF lenses adaptable to Canon Cameras?

3. Is there a particular B&W film that you'd reccomend for backcountry photos? Or, does the Fuji Sensia have a 100ASA B&W Film?

Thanks for the advice and for sharing the photos.

For an SLR camera, I'd think you'd want versatility with the least amount of weight. I think Canon has a relatively light weight 28mm to 135mm lens that allows you to get wildlife shots and macro shots for close-ups. It's probably in the $500 category. Tamron might be a good alternative.

Really though I'm in the dark when it comes to Canon technology. I've heard Canon has a greater range of lens selection and some Nikon users switch over for that reason. You can probably get a Nikkor AF lens adapter, but it could be expensive and you still won't get some a Nikkor lenses full capabilities (e.g. depth of field preview, etc.).

I've used Kodak Plus X-pan 125 film, but still nearly all my shots are now either digital or with Sensia. I just use a gray scale filter on my computer before printing or publishing.

I have to update my web page. Many of the tools I use have changed somewhat.

Tekdude
The film you reccomended for color photos is noticably better in quality than everything else I've used. Thanks for the tip!!!!

So glad to see you're experimenting and getting the most from your photos.

Do you have a webshots account?
