Looks like DEET might be a thing of the past...

It's perfectly safe, has a slightly fruity odor, feels good on the skin and isn't sticky, Klun said.

Another big advantage is that SS220 doesn't dissolve common plastics, like eyeglasses or rayon-polyester fabrics, like DEET does. That will make military equipment designers happy.

2006? I want it now!

Great. After I discover how good DEET tastes with my morning coffee, it's probably going to disappear off the shelves altogether.

Now if you'll excuse me, the leprichans are telling me to take a nap under my neighbor's car again.

2006? Great, 3 more years of allergic reactions versus insect bites.

I'm stockin up on Deet...
I use the 100% sportman's concentrated stuff you find in the camping section at WalMart. I spray a little on my hands then rub it on exposed areas, especially ankles and feet...It works like a charm...less bites, then I wash my hands and go happily about my business. I take showers to wash it off before bed.
