According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration 42,850 people were killed in automobile accidents last year. That averages out to 117 per day. Why isn't President Bush and his administration being blamed for this chaos? After all were losing on average 0.25 Americans in Iraq per day and certain TT'ers want him hanged for this. Just goes to show that those same TT'ers don't care about deaths. They only care about who's in the White House.

Hmmm... by the same "logic" and statistics, we could say that George Bush shoulda declared a war of the auto-manufacturers... since motor vehicles are creating something like a dozen 9/11/01s every year.

Dont forget the drug overdoes, suicides, hiking accidents, and heart attacks! All those happen during this administration so it's his fault!

this reaction is very odd... republicans wanted to blame clinton for everything during his tenure.

maybe both parties need to grow up. i know, silly thought.

Ole Ultra is troll and a pretend patriot. He's saying there is nothing special about the life of someone who is putting it on the line for our country... that the Commander in Chief has no special obligation to those he puts in harms way.

So, auto-manufacturers cause people to be killed in traffic accidents, Hmmm...by the same "logic" gun manufacturers should be held liable for gun deaths, after all those evil guns kill people all by themselves.

In combat zones people get killed. It's not pre-school.

Exactly. This is why the people of this country have a special respect for the lives of those who agree to serve in combat zones when the leaders of this country call thme into service.

There are approximately 300 million people in the US. There are approximately 150,000 soldiers in Iraq. Divide 150,000 into 300 million to get the multiplier to determine highway death/war death equivalence. The multiplier is 2000.

Therefore, at a rate of 0.25 deaths per day times 2000, we arrive at 500. 500 is roughly 4 times greater than 117. This means that the problem of war deaths in Iraq is four times greater of a problem than traffic deaths in the United States.

Sure, once we start saying that the rate ot auto-accidents makes the sacrifices of our soldiers trivial, we can get into all kind a loopy thinking.

Yes, but if we divide the total number of people in the Us by the number of troops in the gulf we can take that number and times it by the average death rate and we find that a war zone is more dangerous than driving down to the liquor store.

Case closed! Hey, wait a minute! Reformed Lurker, you beat me to my point once again! Stop repeating me before I even say something!! Damn!

0.25 does not equal 117. Just goes to show that some TT'ers don't care about deaths, they only care about who's in the White House.

300 million are not on the roads at the same time.

Sure thing. But that 150,000 includes troops on ships, in supply planes/centers and in other, nearby countries.

I guess my past votes for G.H.W. Bush, John Engler and John McCain have burnished my credentials as a liberal.

NEWSFLASH......being born causes death.

Maybe we should have a war on being born. Oh yeah, I forgot, the liberals already do. It's called abortion.
