Is this true?
So did I just hear right that Metallica has just announced they are suing over the use of the e and f chords? It's not the first day of April.

yeah it's true

And their last suit was supposed to stop the trading of their music online...

If you follow the link in the above article, where it says "you can read the whole surreal article here", that takes you to a ScoopThis page. At the bottom of that page is this line:

© and © ScoopThis.com "Because if it's on the net, it's got to be true" (ie, this is a parody.)

It's a leg pull.

Exactly.
They quote one of their sources as MTV.com, but there's nothing about it at all on that site. Welcome to Debunkin' Donuts, can I take your order?

The ScoopThis page is styled to look like an MTV page. If one wasn't smart enough to check the Address field, one would think it was an MTV page.

I'm OK then
I can't make an F cord anymore anyway since my finger got messed up a few years ago.
And I usually make an E minor chord instead of an E chord. It just sounds better.

Trivia

If I messed up my middle finger...say in a flip-off-a-thon. Then what cord would I use? I would definately sue someone if I couldn't participate in that in every day traffic. lol

Em has a bit more drama and sag to it.

I got no problem with Metallica suckin', I just don't want to know what it is they are suckin'.

Leslie West put the power in power chords.

Ok, they got me. Press like this could get you into a lawsuit with Metallica. I heard about this only after hearing more info about the Gallion/Cottrell lawsuit that seems to be the latest sequel in the Bamerland Football Fiasco and was wondering what this world was coming to.

That F major on a 12-wire is a killer.

Ok so that wasn't true but this is true.

F major can be tough.
I sometimes snatch a 4 or 5 string F or wrap my thumb to get the bottom string.

I just bought "St Anger".
I personally think it kicks ass!
I can see where some won't like it but I wouldn't use the work "sucks" to describe it.
It just ain't what Metallica fans have been used to.

Metallica rocks but I don't like what I hear off the new CD so I'll stick with my old stuff. I'll spend my money on the new Disturbed.

I think it's Lars' snare drum sound that is the only problem. Other than that I think it's some great stuff.

I've only heard a couple of the new songs off St.Anger but it sounds a lot better than the stuff they've brought out in years. Going back and hearing Kill 'Em All and then hearing some of the Reload crap just make me sad.

Dave Mustain and Megadeth were always better, harder, faster and more true to the genre than Metalica (IMHO).

jvz-

"I'll spend my money on the new Disturbed."

Have you heard the new Disturbed? In comparison to The Sickness it sucks big time. They use the same three cords and there is very little of the great stuff that made the Sickness stick out from the nu metal quagmire.

HED PE is a good pick for some rap core fun.

Nigal, I havn't heard the new Disturbed yet I just figured they'd keep up the good work so I will listen before I buy. I'll take your advise and look into HED PE although I admit I've never heard of them.

I've not heard any of the new Disturbed yet. The other stuff they've done is Awesome!

BTW, I'm jamming on St. Anger right now.

They have some downright rediculious stuff but it still comes off as great tunes....

"Up in the middle of yo face...what a disgrace,

You a trickass beeatch...how's my dik taste?

Ain't nobody feelin' you...and I ain't goin' back to prison over killin' you,

I'm the type a' nigga that's built to last...you can fuk my beeatch...I'll put my foot in yer a$$!"

They have rap songs, regea songs, ballads, and of course hardcore stuff. Something for the whole family!

I don't care what anyone says. The music may have changed over the years but so do all of us. they still ROCK!

Gimme Fuel,
Gimme Fire,
Gimme that which I desire,
Ooh!

Turn on...I see red
Adrenaline crash & crash my head
Nitro Junkie, Paint me dead
And I see red

One hundred plus through Black and White
War Horse, Warhead
#&%!$ 'Em Man, white knuckles tight
Through Black & White

Ohhh, On I Burn,
Fuel is pumping engines,
Burning hard, loose & clean

And I burn,
Churning my direction,
Quench my thirst with Gasoline

So Gimme Fuel,
Gimme Fire,
Gimme that which I desire,

Hey

Turn on beyond the bone
Swallow future, spit out home
Burn your face upon the crome
Yeah!

Take the corner, join the crash,
Headlights, Headlines
Another Junkie lives too fast
Yeah lives way too fast, fast, fast, oohh-aye

Ohhh, On I Burn
Fuel is pumping engines
Burning hard, loose & clean

And On I burn
Churning my direction,
Quench my thirst with Gasoline

So Gimme Fuel
Gimme Fire
Gimme that which I desire

Yeah-Heah

White Knuckle Tight!
[solo]

Gimmie Fuel.... On I burn, on and on
Gimmie Fire.... On I burn, on and on
My Desire....

Ohhh, On I Burn
Fuel is pumping engines
Burning hard, loose & clean

And I burn
Churning my direction
Quench my thirst with Gasoline

Gimme Fuel
Gimme Fire
Gimme that which I desire
Ooh

On I Burn!

I don't care what anyone says. The music may have changed over the years but so do all of us. they still ROCK!

While the die hard fans who have been there since Kill 'Em All complain about the sound not being the same and they've mellowed they are still good. They are a completely different band and sound but still good. If bands change fans bytch. If they don't change they bytch cause it all sounds the same.

Bluegrass is one genre I never cared for much. Which is surprising because I love nearly every other form of music including country and rap. The whole genre jumping doesn't work for me either.

Guilty Pleasures..
I spent some time on Utube the other night after Nigal posted the link to Megadeth's Mechanix...

Ended up listening to almost the entire Kill 'em All CD...

Then I started doing some digging. Came upon The Four Horsemen (hadn't heard them since the 90's in New Orleans)..

Other guilty pleasures (you know hair band songs you somehow liked)..

Brittany Fox - Girls School (stupid lyrics of all time, but it cranked)
Kix - Cold Shower
Tora Tora - Walking Shoes
Circus of Power - Call of the wild- Motor-
Dirty Looks - Nobody Rides For Free..
Krokus - anything off of the first two albums - American Women, Ballroom Blitz, School's Out

Man it was like watching Headbanger's Ball again...

Kids today don't know what they missed

I don't know what it is but I just can't listen to the hair metal from when I was a teen ager. On XM they have a whole channel called Hair Nation. I just can't get into it. I used to love that stuff.

I haven't been that impressed, but that might be because they play 3 or 4 songs from the album on the radio about 50 times a day.
