“Anyone ever use ALPS gear? I have an ALPS Taurus2 tent and I think it could withstand a hurricane! ALPS makes some great gear for a great price. And no, I do'nt work for them but I wish I did. I also have a sleeping bag they make with Hollofil insulation. It is a really good bag. Any other ALPS fans out there?”

“HI Tarus2 it's great to have a friend like you! :) I live in Akron, Ohio which is a great place to go hiking! :) My girl friend and I SNApple Tree did ARCHER'S fork trail last new years eve. It was so beauttiful, the trees were without a leaf and the soft ground was so soft, I slept like logs! My girl friend was nervous through the trip because her dog had a certain number of "baby's" and she thought about them. But in the morning the view was incedible! We saw some trees and part of the trail of of the camp ground but the rest was obscured by the huge vestebule of my tent, an ALPS Mountaineering Tauras AL

I just dont understand why everybody had to mak such a "big deal" over ALPS Mountaineering. ALPS Mountaineering ALPS Mountaineering is just a good gear company with inexpensife prices and competitive gears for those who do'nt think they have to have "poplar" brands Like Mountan Hardware and Siera Design's. ALPS Mountaineering is the best brand for me and it is the best brand for you.

“Busted...almost but not quite. The Taurus2 troll is mine and I was going to pretend to be Oskar with it. It was going to be the only troll (my first troll, busted, how sad :-( ) BUT then Oskar67 appeared and I was like "WTF? I'll just play along." So I did.

My guess is that Buddha Bear is the Oskar67 troll (He knows enough about Oskar and the situation to fake being Oskar) or it isn't a troll at all...but Oskar himself. He is, afterall, using Oskar's real email address????

“Corp. Nasty, he IS an actual person. He's new to backpacking and obsessed with ALPS gear. I was looking for a hike near me to join over Memorial Day weekend and I joined his hike...as the only other person. To make a long story short he drove me crazy (repeated what he said constantly, brought 7 rolls of film for a two day trek and wanted ME to take his picture every 100 yards, etc), I tried my best to be nice and thought I did so but I apparently failed. He came back to the forum and slammed me. He also made up several friends that supported his ideas and they talked between each other. We bickered back and fourth for a long time.

He flipped out one day when someone told him that ALPS gear was crap and posted a thread with a very homosexual-oriented title aimed at two forum members. Bp2go gave him the boot. I think he's moved here now.
