I tried to tell him it'd be a better picture if he dropped his drawers! =D

great pictures pennsy.

What a great trip.

Pogy pond.

Gotta get out my map of Baxter and look at it in one hand and read the trip at the same time to get oriented.

Just looks great!!

lee, Pogy is a very "romantic" spot - take your wife and a bottle 'o wine, not your kids or buddies. :)
From the north it's only a 6 mile hike. Another one would be Wassataquoik Lake Island.

Was the skinny dippin' good?~~~%^}

no skinny dipping, I didn't want to scare my hiking partner. =D

I guess I'm spleeny but I don't swim with bloodsuckers, which eliminates most of the places we stayed at. BSP has giant bloodsuckers, like a foot long. I guess feeding off moose makes 'em big and healthy!

Okay, I'm offically jealous now....stop it Twigeater!!! ;P No, really, I don't know how you do it, ANOTHER weekend, I wanna go! Can't you hear me whinning. Sign us up for that winter hike! We hopefully will be available for that.

Ha ha about the Throne Mister M and Twiggy. ;o) With a cam pointed in my direction, a bit of shyness takes over.

Tek - of course Twigeater looked happy. She lives in Maine and gets to go to Baxter anytime she wants. I'm jealous! Thanks for the pic compliments and you got me curious as to what ideas I gave you?

Skeetah and Monkey Boy - I waved to ya's when I zipped by S Portland. Did you see me?

foot long leeches??? YEESH Twigeater, NOW you tell me!

Well Bruce Almighty, I tried to catch one to show you, but the only one I saw was a puny 6 inches long. See - I was gonna bring you back a present from the ranger station. :)

Few points came to mind about how you worked with the available lighthing with overcast skies. You were able to keep perfect exposure and image sharpness without affecting the mood of the scene. Have to experiment to pull that off.

On your close-ups you seemed to eliminate clutter and guide the viewer towards the subject. The shot of the toad is a great example. Subtle deal.

There were other impressions when I looked at them last night.

Bruce almighty, you gotta start using that name!!!!JK!

We were thinking about you when you guys were playing hooky in BSP. Looking forward to the next BSP trip with you guys.

Leeches :O
Geez!
No swimmin'?
After a few days of sweatin' a quick dip is nice.
Do they stay on the bottom?

would it help if Pennsy's camera is worth more than my car, or does that make a difference?

I agree TomT. I'm not much of a swimmer though, especially in muddy/rotten tree bottomed, bloodsucker infested ponds. Pretty to look at but I'm not going in. :)
I dunno if they stay on the bottom, but they swim and that's all I need to know!

We went in Wass Stream when we stayed there, but it was cold. The other good place to swim was Upper South Branch Pond, but we didn't get back there until 6:30 and we were pooped and STARVING.

Great pics you two. And yes Buddha, Pennsy's camera even comes with satelite uplink. He pushes a button and it alters the sky for the best shot. NASA is still trying to catch up with The Almighty Ones technology.

Yeah, but when NASA tries to track Pennsy on the trail by satelite all they seem to get is some kinda glare.

Pennsy doesn’t have to worry about leeches going for his blood they’d be after his gear.

I see once again it's Amateur Night at the TT Comedy Club. Don't give up your day job folks. LOL!

For the record - the big ole expensive monster camera stays home on most backpacking trip these days. My middle size cam got dropped 2 weeks ago and needs Nikon servicing. Sooooo, my little Nikon CP995 made this trip.

I think it's time for the Bobo to go back into hiding... um-kay?
So when you are you truly going to leave your shell and come hiking with us again?

I like spirits! The liquid ones.

Yo Yamster - if you come on the Sept trip, you'll get to see both the mountains and the sea. Then everybody will be jealous of you.

Yes TomT, the mess that is my yard is a certified National Wildlife Federation Backyard Wildlife Habitat, i.e. I don't mow my lawn, hehe.

I was just admiring your pictures again - they are great! Thanks to both of you for the pics. The sunset pic is stunning. It was fun to see the summer versions of people and places I saw in February.

BTW: The two cow moose in Twiggy's album (pic #8) look awfully familiar.

a "Pennsy honey" is purdier yet.

Liz - no tripod this trip. I never take my tripod backpacking but once in a while I'll take my Gitzo monopod that doubles as a walking stick.
