Where to meet other hikers?

Years ago I ran with the hash house hounds. I describe them as a drinking club with a running problem.”

“bacpac...it isn't a backpacking trip...backpacking and backcountry camping IS NOT permitted at Hocking Hills State Park. This will be a car camping trip. I don't take beer on backpacking trips...just car camping trips.

While the area doesn't offer any backpack trails...it does offer lots of interesting natural features. We'll hike during the day and drink around the campfire at night. Should be a good time.”

Sad thing is...I've met people online via AOL and then met them the same day in person. Sometimes its bad, sometimes it's good. Have a few good friends I found that way. Very public places are the best place to meet.”

“Not often enough. I work weekends...it's the only way I can afford my mortgage. I usually do two weeklong trips and two to four weekend trips a year. Sucks. But it only has to be that way for another year then I'm out of school and should get a job with weekends off. Then I'll go backpacking at least once a month like I used to. Next camping trip will be Hocking Hills on Aug 30. Then I hope to make it to Dolly Sods in September for some backpacking and I'll be at TCIII in October.”

“i've always had an interest in backpacking but my friends arn't the outdoorsy type so i never have anyone to go with
so i just decided that i'm gonna break down and buy my equipment and find someone to go with or i'll go alone”
