Travel Country Outdoors is selling GoLite Sil Nylon tarps for just under $40. I thought anybody flirting with the idea of tarping my be interested since its about $15 less than the cheapest I've seen. I can't tell if both sizes are that price or just the smaller version. The sale ends today I believe.

Free Shipping too.

When I click on the 7x9 size, the price is $79. The smaller size seemed to be the $39.

When I go to check out with the 7x9, it's telling me $79 too. Were you actually able to get it for $39?

Binks Quite Possibly Could Strike A Deal With Me
I got scheisted!

When I ordered via the telephone yesterday I ordered the 7' x 9' sage (green) colored tarp and the dood told me that it'd be $39.20 including S & H. He even went to wherever to confirm they them in both colors and sizes. He took down my shipping address, telephone #, Visa card info and EVERYTHING!

So I hooked up with a bunch of friends and camped just down the road from an Allman Bros concert last night, and when I got home there was a message for me to call the dood back.

So when I called earlier the dood wasn't there because he doesn't work today, and the guy I had to talk to was trying everything he could and took a long time doing it to figure out why the dood wanted to talk to me about my order. Turns out MY ORDER WASN'T EVEN IN THE COMPUTER AND HE TELLS ME THE 7' x 9' TARP IS $79.

I cancelled my order.

I have a ID Siltarp - it's rolling around in the back of my truck - it's a real pain to set up. I got it to bring with my bivy on rainy trips, but I haven't taken it yet.

Hey winding
I'm curious what shelter you usually take, I know you do a lot in the southern Sierra, I do mostly northern Sierra. Usually I take just my Bivy (OR Advanced), if I know weather is going to be bad I'll bring my Bibler I tent(don't you have an Intreal ID?). I have a big trip planned for Toulomne Meadows headed south starting 8/11, don't know whether I should bring a tarp or my Bibler so I can get in out of the weather, or, just continue to go with my Bivy.

What would you do? I follow your exploits & would value your opinion!

Wandere:

I have an Integral Designs MK1 Lite that I have enjoyed very much, but not to long ago I switched to a Salathe Bivy also by ID to save some weight from spring to fall. I bought the Siltarp to pitch over the bivy, but I haven't used it. I've only been caught in the rain twice with the Bivy and it didn't last too long, but I was able to toss my gear into the bivy and keep it dry. If I need to I can put all my gear in the bivy with me (a little crowded but dry). I've used the bivy 9 times and so far so good.

ID has a new MK1 Lite made with that Event fabric - it must be at least 8 ounces lighter. I have a couple repairs to do on the one I have and I'm going to get through this next winter with it, but I'm pretty sure my next tent will be the MK1 Lite with the Event fabric.

I'm going out for 6 days in Northern Yosemite starting at Twin Lakes on August 10th. I'm planning on bringing the bivy with me to save weight.

There must be an art to putting up a tarp because I played with mine in the backyard for a long time before I got frustrated and gave up.

Do I Have To Use PayPal ?
Yo Binks

I just tried ordering an 8x10 w/ties but only got a PayPal method of payment, and unfortunately I don't have and never used Paypal before.

Any other methods of payment other than cold hard cash?
