Blew out my flipflops, NOT!View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 7 of 7 messages posted.
Free Ultralight Camp Flip Flops “Just about packed for my Rocky's trip and I thought I would show y'all my new homemade 1.8 oz. Camp Flip Flops. Cost $0 and weighs 0.9 oz. each. Made from a old set of insoles from some worn out New Balance Trail Runners. Just about any old insoles will work. I just tied a big knot in the center of the shoe string, threaded both free ends thru an existing hole where I wanted the toe hold to be, tied another knot about 3" up from the toe hole, adjusted the fit, and tied the two free ends off to the back sides. Pretty cool, light flip flops. I'm wearing them around the house now while I pack.” 3:10:06 PM 7/26/03 “You're ingenious! ;)” 3:22:57 PM 7/26/03 “VERY COOL! But none of my insoles from my 'worn out shoes' look that good!!! lol” 3:30:58 PM 7/26/03 “Thanks, but the original idea isn't mine. An AT thruhiker named Brawny (a very small female) made a pair kinda like these. I just tinkered with her idea a bit.” 3:32:43 PM 7/26/03 “tango - I use SuperFeet insoles so the original insoles see little use, LOL.” 3:34:07 PM 7/26/03 “Great idea - you lunatic ultralighter. I thought my 9oz waldies were light. I might try this one.” 8:16:04 PM 7/26/03 “>GRIN< sexy toes--cool shoes” 8:27:17 PM 7/26/03
