TT Road Trip

So I have this Crazy Idea!
A TT Road Trip.....

Here's how it works. Someone on the East or West Coast rents or buys a school bus, of course with contributions from other TTers.

The bus travels across the U.S. stopping in states with interested TTers. When the bus stops in you state, you can either meet up with the group for a hike or campout at a predetermined site for that state with the option of hopping on the bus to join the caravan.

The group on the bus would constantly be changing as people headed home to jobs and other unimportant stuff.

The bus would be wired with remote Internet access so that there would be an ongoing trip report from the bus to the TT Web site.

We could sell the whole idea to some reallity show creator to fund the whole thing.

Any takers?

I'm in. Who is gonna make contact with the television producers? If we could sell the idea, it would make one of the greatest "reality" shows on TV. Who would get control of content, so that it would be closer to reality, and less like all of the others.
I can't wait for the episode where we get into a political discussion around the campfire. I'll bet that will get better ratiings than the gear-talk episodes.
Let's get started soon.

Crazy Mike needs to drive. He will be able to get across the entire country in 3 days.

This sounds like Road Rules. MTV may sue of for copyright infrindgment. It is a cool idea though. I think those of us that would do it however may not have a job or a family upon our return.

Can't wait to camp out in Violin's back yard. I have some technical training in Haiku that I'd like to share with him.

I can't wait to the bus rolls up to the Free State Brewery in Kansas. That is where I get off the bus.

Just remember, Chili, it's a MICRO-brewery, not a MACRO-brewery....

In that case, I will cut my vacation from two weeks to 10 days.

I can produce the thing. I can even get cameras, I think. What may be a problem is getting time off and my wife will have to come along because when I return home, I may not have one.

Reminds me of the pass-around camera thing we did several years ago. Cute idea, but maybe more details need to be worked out.

One of our TTers did something like this when she got laid off in New England several years ago. She drove across the country visiting TTers. She also visited libraries so she could go on-line and post her progress on TT. It was fun reading her adventures. Anyway, she ended up marrying a TTer she met and now lives on the West Coast.

Hey, how come she didn't visit me? I could use a second wife.

Great idea Phil, we can incorporate the "TT Dating Game" into the bus ride.

Better bore those pistons over and turbo-charge the bus. Ignore those lights, driver.
