Review For Ynami!
The only review of them, I've heard so far, is that they go "Thwickity-Thwackity" when you walk in them.

The most comfortable boots I have ever owned were Nikes. The tread wasn't very aggressive and wore out after a couple seasons though. I like the ACG line myself.

This thread goes back a bit, but anyone ever try these out?

Still thinking of giving these a try.

Like all Nike shoes these didn't fit my fred Flinstone feet.

I have been using a lot of the ACG line and have actually liked all the ones ive used except one that had(for me at least) bad arch support and that was the obly one I did not like but it was a older lower priced model. I just changed lately to Danner which is more expensive but still nice. I would not hesitate to go back to the Nike though. Nikes in general tend to run a little narrow....for those Fred Flintstone feet try New Ballance or their spinoffs Dunham. I have wider feet too and the Dunham Cloud 9 Hiker was GREAT and it came in a 2EE and 4EE also. I tried on 6 boots some Vasques,Merrils,Columbia,HiTec,Dunhams,Danners. And the Cloud 9 Dunhams were by FAR the most comfortable on wider feet.

picked up boots today
Ynami . . . . I checked around
several places for the boots
after seeing them featured in
the April Backpacker mag. on
page 85. ($140) I finally went to the REI store outside Nashville.

REI
261 Franklin Road
Brentwood, TN 37027
615 376-4248

They did not stock the shoe
but offered to see if they could
special order them for me.

Greg Gonzalez spent twenty
plus mins. working to serve me.
He found my size at the Dallas
REI store and secured the
shipment of them to me. This
was Monday evening. They
arrived Thursday evening same
week.

Matt Waldron, supervisor at the
store, spent 30+ mins. Showing
me products and answering a
myrid of my questions. These
two gentlemen were the most
helpful, knowledgeable and
courteous individals that I have
shopped with in a long time.

For $79 plus shipping and tax
they appear to be a real bargain.

Good Point !
The boots (they) appear to be a real bargain for the price , shipping and tax. Thanks for
the observation.

Apparently REI marketing folks don't read their own web copy. Topping the accompanying list of items to go with these Nike ACG boots are Superfeet Active II low profile insoles. Trouble is, the copy for the insoles warns not to use them with Gore-Tex lined boots -- and the Nikes are Gore-Tex boots.

Why are they not to be used with
Gore-Tex?

The only text on the insoles is
in the heel on top
"all conditions gear" at the
arch on bottom "ACG & Nike swoop"
and out side of toes on bottow
"ACG QH-13". How would one
know there is a problem?

I think I can top the price. Will check sizes available at the store where I work, they are 60% off. I like mine a lot for hiking, though I'm not that crazy about standing in them at work all day, And, one boot leaked a little, i think along the seam

abilene, when you are at the boot's page at the REI site, look for the little box below the image that gives recommended items to go with the boots. Click on the Superfeet Active II, then carefully read the specs for the insoles on their page.

My guess is that the marketing person doing the product referencing was only looking at the "low profile" aspect of the insole recommendation. The green, or hiking, Super Feet insole is higher profile -- takes up more room in the boot. This I know from using them in my Asolo Fusion 95 GTX boots.
