thinking about a trip this weekend on the mid state trail from big spring road to little pine state park. this is a 24 mile section of the trail, i hear great things about this trail. great views, pine creek gorge, beautiful streams, and it has some buttkicking potential. it's a linear trail, so we'll need to shuttle cars. just seeing if there is any interest.

It's not looking good for me but I'll know for sure Thursday night. Unlikely but possible.

Is this near the small section we did during the WRT trip?

no pennsy, further south along the gorge, fairly close to williamsport.

i hear the ascent up houselander mtn is a real buttkicker.

if no one comes along, i'll do one of the quehanna trail's loops.

I do and so does my girlfriend. Pennsylvania is one of our favorite States to go backpacking! There are so many trails to choose from. We hiked in both the Allegheny National Forest and the Quebec Run Wild Area. I personally would love to hike the Hickory Creek Wilderness Loop Trail sometime this year.

Quebec Run Wild Area is great! Actually, there are many trails to choose from in the Wild Area and they all intersect so you can make loops of whichever you choose. My girlfriend and I hiked the Mill Run, Teabolt, West Road (actually a hiking trail now), Brocker and Gristmill Trails. They were all nice! We camped the first night on the Mill Run Trail and the second on the Brocker Trail after climbing up the eastern flank of Chestnut Ridge. I'm sure you will enjoy these trails as much as we did!
