I am 50% shure!
This trail is about 9 hours away from me and I am going to have to take a Friday off to go.

This is a great place to backpack and I am going to try very hard to go.

This is a great place to backpack and I am going to try very hard to go. Does anyone else want to go? 8)

CMB - you probably yell out the ending in movie theaters, don't ya? ;o)

I'm listed as a maybe, but a solid maybe. It's just a bit early for me to commit. You should commit. In fact, you should be committed. (I've got a million of them I tell ya)

Dang it gforce... don't you go marching into our thread to recruit people for YOUR trip!

Just pulling yer chain as you know I am but others may not. So why can't you go on THIS one? You're bagging the Maine trip because of this little walk-in-the-park Long Path Vermont hike, and now this? Are you avoiding me because ONE time I got you lost?? ;o)

You can hike the whole AT in six months...and they won't call you a thru-hiker.

You can hike the Triple Crown in a year, and they won't call you a real backpacker.

You can hike every trail in the Smokeys, and they'll still think you're a poseur.

But piss in one natural spring...

No Pennsy . . . .
Just giving CMB a hard time. Actually I will be on my little walk-in-the-park on the Long Trail that weekend. So I'll have to cancel that trip that's only 5 hrs away. lol!

BTW, I was in RMNP two yrs. (end of Sept) ago while the elk were mating. The bugling was really neat for a while . . . . but ALL NIGHT LONG . . . . YIKES!!!!!

WK - I know gforce talks in circles but he's not cancelling his trip to join us for buglin. His 'walk in the park' is the Long Path in Vermont. I think it's something like 250 miles?

Long Trail = 280 miles . . . and no I'm not cancelling, but I'd would love to join in if I could. Sounds like a great group . . . but I'm not sure about that Pennsy character . . . pissing in streams . . . . lol!!

does it make sense that there could be more elk sightings at the northern end? I hiked this trail in July, no sightings anywhere but, that was with 9 young'ens.

i agree, i prefer the northern end, but i don't think we can make a loop out of it. we'll probably have to shuttle cars.
