Question About New Natural Area in TNView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 2 of 2 messages posted.
Fallingwater State Natural Area “I'm hoping some TT'er will have visited the new state natural area and be able to help out. Fallingwater SNA runs from Walden to Soddy-Daisy. Its in the Walden Ridge area of TN.. you know.. that North-South string of state natural areas in TN which includes Stinging Fork, Piney River, Ozone Falls, etc. I talked to the admin. guy for the SNA program. All he was able to tell me is that the state of TN owns the property. 12 acres of it are on the southern end ABOVE the gulf at Walden. The majority of the area is on the canyon floor and at the far end at Soddy-Daisy. The state is having a hellacious time getting the folks on the north end to cooperate. As with alot of the state natural areas.. it begins in a residential area in Soddy-Daisy. I held out hope that maybe some folks here had visited it anyhow. I know its a big rock climbing area for one thing. Any help would be appreciated. If I get to go and if I find out anything I will reciprocate and share the info. Thanks! Or if you are coming from Red Bank it will be on the left. It should be easy to spot. Which ever way you approach it is not far from 153 and the old 27 area” 10:06:35 PM 8/07/03
