The assembly (of gear) are pretty much liberal about weight but are certainly conservative about cost. The assebly does request additional funds for upgrades from time to time, but the chairman of expenditures (Mrs Tahoe) frequently denies those requests due to the impact on the overall budget. She says that unless more revenue can be generated, the assembly will just have to deal with things the way they are, or find more creative ways of finding funds, other than looking directly to the chairman.
Now, the House of Representatives (my body) is pissed off at the assembly by being so liberal about the weight and to cheap to buy lighter gear. The House figures that the savings in transportation costs (calories) alone would offset the cost of new assembly members, but they still need convice the chairman of expenditures. At one time there was some conideration among the assebly and House of Representatives to Recall the chairman, but the recall effort would have just been too expensive, and would have ended up dissolving the relationship between the Head of the recreation comittee (me) and the chairman. This is a valuable relationship to the Head to the Recreation committee as it results in good food, clean clothes and other innumberable benefits.
There will be no recall effort in the state of Tahoe, and no other candidates are welcome under any circummstances.

I live in a monarchy right now. When the king says we need new gear, we get new gear! Parliament was dissolved long ago. Long live the king!

lol
Things are so much easier at my house... I am the Chairman of Expenditures, the House of Representatives and the Head of the Recreation Comittee. I rarely disagree with myself. The assembly is quite satisfied!

I consider my place a benevolent dictatorship, although my attempted coup by credit card a couple of months ago landed me in "solitary confinement" for a few nights, if you know what I mean.

Back when I was married, my wife was the Head of the recreation comittee, and a dang good one I might add.
