Hey there, Divinity. Wife of Humanpackmule here.

Pack A LOT of those antibacterial wipes!
I now use an pepsi can alky stove I made instead of white gas or anything bulky and heavy. I'm working on making an adjustable flame stove soon, too.
I don't care how many days some of these grunts can go without a clothing change, but fresh skivvies are a must.
Reevaluate the gear you have; how much of it can you replace with lighter gear for as little money as possible?
Are you a hot or cold sleeper? This is very important to consider when choosing your sleeping and your tentmate, if you have one. One snuggler and one nonsnuggler in a tent can be a very bad combo.
I'll type more when I can think of them.

I second the wipes suggestion but I use diaper wipes that have dried out. I pack a ziplock of them and moisten them as needed. I do pack stridex pads that're individually wrapped, one per day, or a dove wipe per day crammed into a film cannister.

Use trekking poles! they're worth their weight in gold.

Use two 2 gallon ziplocks for laundry, one for campsuds water, one for rinse water. Hang your clothes on a clothes line and secure them with straightpins so they don't fall off.

Sounds like your going to be in good shape. the Poles, wipes and wash thingy (what a great idea, Sass!) are great. I would suggest also packing common scence, a proper additude and a smile. You're going to have fun!!

i wish I could add something important to this list, but there is not much to add.

I need is my wipes and clean underwear.
I also love my hiking poles. Found out the other day (for anyone that cares) that you you burn more calories using hikingpoles then without. But I love them for other reasons.

I am starting to learn how to read a compass with a map, because you never know...at the end everyone maybe is depending on you!

essential gear for women...
ME, take me along...I am good to cuddle with, I can rub blister cream on your sore feet, give great massages at camp after those long treks, I can gather all the wood for the fire and cut it up into nice managable peices, I can cook...OMG!!! can I cook. I can help keep the tent warmer and I smell good after a long hot hike ( I never sweat) I can fetch a pail of water...and as for those handiwipes...I'd be glad to do the wiping.

Another little tip Buddur showed me...carry a small compass handy for orienting your map in the right direction (point the "N" toward North), it always helps to have the map pointed in the right direction, lol.

THE BALLAD OF STIKMON

Have stick will travel, reads the card of a man
A cabana boy sans cabana in a savage land
His fast stick for hire, heeds the calling femme
A cabana boy of leisure, is a man called --- stikmon

stikmon, stikmon, where do you roam
stikmon, stikmon, far, far from home

He travels on to whereever he must
A hiking stick of wood is his badge of trust
There are campfire legends that the single girls sing
Of the man with the stick, of the man called --- stikmon.

stikmon, stikmon, where do you roam
stikmon, stikmon, far, far from home

Far from home, far from home.
