Looking for backpackers in St. Louis
Looking for others in St. Louis to backpack with. None of my friends backpack or they have all moved to Colorado. If interested email me at ej391@hotmail.com

We have one TT'er here from the bootheel. Several from Indiana and Illinois and several in Arkansas.

Be sure to check the trips page as you can expect several hikes to be planned in the Ozarks for this fall.

yo EAJ!!!
I am the lone bootheel backpacker that Chilli referenced. I am looking to do the Hawn St Pk loop hike sometime this fall. In the meantime till all the little 8 legged nasties are dead or asleep, I float practically every weekend...your invited to any float trip that I go on...its not about floating though, its about eating...lol...

Keep postin and get crazy, like the rest of us, and I'll try to hook up with you sometime...maybe on a excursion to SL, we can meet at REI and spend some of your money on new gear for me...the newbies always purchase something for the vetrans...

Welcome to the mystical realm of TT.

I'm in the state. Maybe we can hike into the Mark Twain National Forest with a case of beer and make some fire rings and melt our beercans.

My advice: avoid the trailrats in MO - i.e. avoid the trails; they're for pu$$ies and poseurs.

hey Mutt...
I thought we all had decided you were a poser and not worthy of rhetorical comment...has anything changed...or are you now going to play nice and be friendly?

Hey Stickmon
Poseur? That would be you. I've been hiking Missouri for 15 years. And a lot of that includes climbing, too, which is another 20 lbs of gear in addition to normal backpacking gear. I've bush-wacked the MTNF and other natural areas, as well as hiked the occasional trail. I've also floated a number of rivers - some of which you've probably never heard of.

So you can take your groomed trails and shove 'em where the sun don't shine. Just stick with the trailrats and leave the rest of the state to the real enthusiasts.
