boots, “On the p.a. trip ireakized my boots need replacing,si i am trying to make a choice between the vasque sundowner mx2 or the asolo 520 gtx have seen no reviews on them ,............” 12:11:34 AM 8/11/03 “Check gearreview.com” 4:50:36 AM 8/11/03 “Try the Vasque Zephyr GTX, or the Highlander GTZ. I observed them in action with HPM last year, bought a pair and love them (even though they are made in France). I also looked at the Asolo GTX after seeing them in action with Ewker, but many of the reviews I read complained of rapid treadwear. Good Luck!” 8:01:30 AM 8/11/03 “I have been told by gear sales people to stay away from Vasque. They have shipped off there manufacturing to china recently. I have heard two accounts. One, all the manufacturing is done in China. Two, some of the manufactuing is done in China and that you need to check the lables to see if it was made in China or Italy. When you read reviews, pay attention to how old the boots being reviewed are. If someone is saying that they have had thier Vasques 5 years and love them, then that does not apply to the concerns about where they are being manufactured now.” 8:59:23 AM 8/11/03 “Too bad to hear that the Chinesse kids quailty is starting to slip. They used to be top notch :) Maybe companies will see there business drop with such practices and opt for better quailty of say, Thailand? :)” 9:10:29 AM 8/11/03 “I would opt for an Italian made boot then one from China made from a exfarmer that had to take a factory job for a few cents a day.” 9:41:26 AM 8/11/03 “Without China, the US doesn't exist any more. Just the facts. I try to avoid Chinese products, and keep my money close to home, but it gets increasingly difficult to do.” 9:46:00 AM 8/11/03 “To balance things out, I buy Chinese food made in Georgia.” 9:52:47 AM 8/11/03
