New EPA Head

If you are in the timber/mining/oil industry, this is a good thing. If you like pristine wilderness, it's not real good.

We have some of the biggest polluters in the country right here in Salt Lake County. We have the largest open pit mine in the world in view of all of Salt Lake City (and outer space if you happen to ever be there).

This is a man who considers some slot canyons to be 'developed roads' which, by definition, makes it not wilderness. He went ahead and started freeway construction through wetlands before the courts were through deciding the issue. Then when the army corps of engineers shut down the project, the state was stuck paying tens of thousands of dollars a day to the construction companies to do nothing.

He also once defended polygamy as a religious right. That was his justification for not proscecuting the thousands of Utah families who are polygamists and abusing welfare.”
